Just don't try too much too soon. I've had tyres scrubbed in during 15 road miles, or 2 laps of Brands Indy.

Unlucky though chap.


Also 100 motorway miles does nothing to scrub in the edges. It's about being gradual rather than a set distance.

Although i did try to keep to the 100 mile rule but only got to 50 before i started having fun lol.

TBH I thought they were ok. How wrong I was. They were done on Thursday I believe and I've done 50 ish miles since then. But no.

And yes I've had 3 this year. But I'm getting better at it. It's not written off this time and all I hit is a curb. And fixed on the roadside with a mates help to shoot past my house and pick one of the 3 genny cases I have on my bench.

Just need to replace the instant gasket seal tomorrow when Honda reopen.

I stay pretty vertical for the first 30, then slowly get lower and lower, do a few roundabouts boths ways, then at 100 miles it's a free for all.

100 miles my arse lol i was getting low well before 100 miles when i c hanged mine. Just took it steady and slowly got lower.

Had a new front tyre on the Bandit at the end of last week... Done about 50-60 miles on it so far, and yes I'm increasing lean angles slowly.
(However, I'm still REALLY tempted to get rid of those chicken strips and attempt a knee down on the way home from work tomorrow morning)

Yes 100 miles is balls. The key is to get heat into them and gradually lean further and further. You could do 100 miles in small increments (which it sounds like you have) and still not have them scrubbed. Best thing is get the new rubber fitted then go out for a 'ride' , not a few trips to work and back or whatever.
My last set were probably scrubbed in enough after 40-60 miles. I got the tyres fitted and clocked up around 80miles on the twisties immediately, job sorted.

Just to be pedantic, I've only written one off, the other didn't go through insurance and this isn't a write off. Just a graze

I'll meet that and raise you 5 miles on the road or one lap of Lydden .

The trick is to only lean it a little bit more at a time. 100 miles bolt upright will probably leaves cornering pretty dodgy still.
