i dont really have anything to do next year ( apart from college work )
so i thought i'd build a turbo bike.
ill start with some specs, then some pictures and writing and stuff.
bandit 1200
garrett t25 ( from a fiesta )
rs turbo intercooler
home made plenum
home made headers
external wastegate
gsxr clutch conversion and mtc lockup.
basicaly, everything that can be home made, will be.
my budget is about 600 quid for the setup, hopefully i'll beat that.
im aiming for around 190bhp from 6psi
a bit of background, i wount be buying a b12 until january 22nd next year (savings bond finishes) and my restriction runs out on the 28th, so i wont bother insuring it till then, to avoid them asking for restriction, when it ends in 6 days anyway.
so, all the measurment work is coming from kind people on oss.
anyway, what ive done so far.
garrett t 25, removed the wastegate so i can fit an external one, as i don't trust the built in thing, and i want to be able to change the boost cut off later down the line.

https://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad233/chris-bracey/turbo/IMG_3295Medium.jpg
i then did some maths and drew out the stud plan for the exhaust housing.
https://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad233/chris-bracey/turbo/IMG_3296Medium.jpg
i then shaded over the end, to get the shape for the new bolt on plate thing im going to make
https://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad233/chris-bracey/turbo/IMG_3298Medium.jpg
then cut it out.
https://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad233/chris-bracey/turbo/IMG_3299Medium.jpg
ive drilled and tapped the main oil gallery plug for the feed line to the turbo
https://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad233/chris-bracey/turbo/IMG_3265Medium.jpg
https://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad233/chris-bracey/turbo/IMG_3267Medium.jpg
https://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad233/chris-bracey/turbo/IMG_3270Medium.jpg
ive also started work on the plenum.
got some specs from a guy off oss
https://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad233/chris-bracey/turbo/carbs-1.jpg
drawn up in 2d
https://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad233/chris-bracey/turbo/plenum1.jpg
then in 3d
https://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad233/chris-bracey/turbo/plenum-1.jpg
this is being made by warped's dad lol.
anyway, thats the main stuff ive done so far. most of the stuff ive done is maths and boring things.
hopefully more coming tomorrow, ive found a guy with some part finished headers for sale. ____________________ Turbocharged drag thing / project death weapon / GK73A

I have an external wastgate knocking around! I can also get an RS Turbo intercooler as well
I also have a T25 gasket at my house, you can have that for free if you want? Saves you making one! Comes with bolts for fitting as well!
How much boost are you looking at running? ____________________ 2009 CBR1000RR

You can have it for free if I can dig it out mate, its an XS Power one I used on an old T04e I had on my car, the turbo shit its self! I've got a £300 Tial wastgate now, so its not doing anything! I'll see if I can dig it out for you, it works really well, you might need to fit a slightly weaker spring if you want to run less then 7psi though! You can have the gasket as well, its the same stud pattern as that turbo.
The intercooler is my friends of a Series 1 RS Turbo, I will ask him what he's doing with it! ____________________ 2009 CBR1000RR

Hi
Should be interesting. If you want to measure anything up on my Bandit (or the spares I have floating around) then let me know. I have a lockup clutch floating around somewhere.
If you want it to accelerate hard then budget on a longer swinging arm. The Bandit is too tall and short to get decent acceleration without a fair bit of skill (counts me out). My GSXR is 20+ hp down on the Bandit but half a second quicker on a standing quarter.
All the best

Hi
Came with my GSXR11 and I have never used it. For the road you might be better just using a couple of heavy duty springs or a GSXR11 clutch.
I have some stock exhausts which you can borrow to measure up for the manifolds (although you might be best just buying a rusted up set of headers needing the section underneath repairing and using those as a basis).
EDIT - Forgot to mention I have a spare head floating around with a load of bent valves. Could be useful for sorting out the plenum if you want to use a draw through setup.
All the best

cool, well if you want to get rid of it, think of a price and ill start saving lol.
its probably going to be the most expensive part of the build, but its kind of critical lol ____________________ Turbocharged drag thing / project death weapon / GK73A
