Something reminded me of an event that took place with my friends when we were teenagers (3 delightful ladies).
I had a few very good friends as a teenager, we spent every weekend going out, drinking, chatting to guys, and doing the usual teenage things. On this particular night, there were three of us, all with different problems;
Me, I'm Deaf as a post (can't hear a word people are saying in noisy environment's) - Blind often translated for me.
The next is Blind as a bat (she had no idea who was who unless they were stood next too her) - I used to give her the lowdown on who was who.
The third, found it impossible to remain vertical after a few drinks, lets call her Legless.
We used to go to the local Rugby club disco - what fun! On this particular occasion, there we were; Deaf, Blind and Legless. Part way through the night, Deaf noticed that Legless had disappeared and employed Blind (stupidly) to come and find her with me. We found her in the ladies loo.
Unfortunately, on this occasion, some poor soul had removed the content of their stomach and placed it on the floor. Even more unfortunate was the fact that Legless had not noticed before it was too late. There she was, on the floor, squirming around in someone else's acidic stomach content, leather jacket plastered. Every time she found one foot, down she went again. Then she spotted us and stretched a hand out for us to rescue her.
I don't remember what happened next very clearly, but I remember looking at Blind, we both had an look of utter disgust on our faces, cringed, and believe, we left very quickly - hoping that Legless would never remember our presence.
How deep does your friendship run? What have you done to help a fiend of yours that's worthy of a pat on the back?
I'm clearly not a good friend to have |

How deep is friendship? Hmmmm that`s a hard one!
I`ve left my mates in lots of situations that have been of thier own making.
For example covered in their own vomit or minus their trousers in the middle of Kensington or locked in a phone-box with about five stink-bombs that have been let off (we were very young at the time).
But they were never in any real danger.
I am glad to think that I have never left my mates if there has been any hint of them coming to any harm and I am proud of that.
Hopefully they will return that sort of care when the tables are turned?? ____________________ I am the sum total of my own existence, what went before makes me who I am now! |

I acted as bait for a mate who had upset a gang late at night in a dodgy area once. His bike, think it was a 600 Kwack, had been nicked earlier and so we went around about 2am looking for it. He didn't realise then that you don't stare at passing cars, with an angry accusing look on your face, especially at a bunch of drugged up nutters in a Morris Ital in a dark corner of a council estate.
Because he was fatter and more unfit than I was the fastest one caught up with him, so I stopped running and kept taunting the guy, calling him names, insulting his mother..etc.. until he started chasing me, giving my mate chance to get back home before the others caught up.
Funny thing is, years later I'm actually good mates with the guy who wanted to beat him/us up and am doing his business website for him (he's not the bully he used to be anymore). I've never mentioned the incident to him, and I think he's completely unaware it was me. ____________________ A Guide To Powerbands |

Set my friends outbuildings on fire.
Crashed into my friends car which was less than a day old.
Licked-out my mates bird.

Driven 35 miles at 2am to pick up a drunken friend, had to carry them to my car and put them in the passenger seat, drove 35 miles back, carried them to a bed in my house and they slept for the night, made sure they were okay in the morning etc.
There are friends I'd do anything for, have known them 10+ years and I have noticed this too, male camaraderie seems to extend far beyond female camaraderie. ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."
