Going to work this afternoon, running fine, hit the motorway and the bike just sounded like a sack of shyte.
Splutterin, sounded terrible, would give me power, then wouldnt, chugging, jolting forward.
Its in fact sounding like a V-twin right now.
Slow ride coming home, its just at the 3k rev mark, 1st 2nd gear its very very sluggish, almost sounding like it wants to backfire - untill i manage to pick up speed, say around 40mph and the bike sounds fine? Pulling away is a nightmare!!
ive just put redex in with some more fuel...
Am thinking fuel starvation?? will redex clear it up eventually?
i need my bike all this week for work, but I dont want to cause more damage, if any Confused

Wet plugs??
Carb heater?

Possibly...you have been riding about on the motorways in this horrible weather...it might be worth pulling your plug leads off and checking they are dry for a start... Thinking

Coil/s.
Water gets in and fcuks them for no reason.

Fuel solenoid valve. Opens when you turn on the key.

Is it fuel injected?
Could be shit in the system but that normally kills it completely.
Intermittent splutter/stutter sounds more like electrical....
Connection/s.
Dealer check?

sounds like it needs a good redline to clear some crap in the fuel system. Possibly a partially blocked breather pipe?

Don't drain the carbs what ever you do.

I don't know that water in fuel woulf give that symptom. It would normally kill the bike dead. (It doesn't emulsify with fuel but water can be full of crud and it's the crud that could cause stop start spluttery running.)
My famous symptom like that was the ignition system.
There is so much power in modern electronic ignition that is can blast through an amazing amount of conditions that old fashioned ignition would flat fail.
If the bike has had a soaking or been put away wet/after washing. The moisture can collect as condensation. Over time this can cause corrosion and high tension electrical energy tracing to ground.
That can cause lack of power and erratic running.

Drain the fuel tank into a spotless clean container.
If there is any sign of detritus or water in the fuel then it may well be a fuel contamination problem.
Redex will not fix it. The problem will be something blocking the injectors or a fuel pressure regulator.
But do not panic.
If there is muck in the fuel drain off the tank and remove as much of the fuel system as you can.
Try to get the hoses and bits clean using one of those (Useless) PC air blower can things out of Staples.
Clash it al back together and refill with clean fuel.

Try to start as normal. It will take a few seconds to get fuel back through the system.

Worst thing is if there is a blockage in the injectors. This is more complex. I have no intimate knowledge of this Kwakakwaka 632 but my triumph needed two bloody injectors when it got contaminated.

'Not a big fan of Redex and other fuel addatives personaly, tho they've should have improved since I first tried them. When's the last time the plugs were changed? Can't hurt to use a bit of Contact Spray around the electrics. I use that GT64 stuff, or was that GT46 Question Confused Confused

Only bike I changed sparks on was my bandit - which was easy to do ect.
This is my first sports, and found it quiet a task to take bits off and find the spark plugs!!
Sparks have arrived, just waiting on the tool to remove them as I dont have one.
I wont drain the tank, as I said above, fresh fuel is in there every other day.
but yeah, tell me - how to check a spark Laughing
I pulled the HT lead from plugs. but thats it Confused

Right, Ive changed the spark plugs.
Rode it up the road, was fine for 2 miles. Then it started all over again.
Not as bad this time tho, More so if i was doing 35 in 4th gear - it would play up, i was just testing all the gears. Then a few more miles up the road, pulling away in 1st wasnt great, and would grunt/chugg.
Heres a link to the vid, its not great - the first 'rev' you can here its not right. the Revs after are normal.
Im lost now, maybe not firing on all cylinders Confused

whooo dont do that wd40 is flammable
i worked in a garage in stafford and a guy was told to spray some on his plug leads to help with the damp
he done it with the bike running and it burst into flames
little not wd40 dries out and can cause more problems
i use duck oil or other penetrating fluids

Right, 3rd time taken to bits Brick Wall
All the plugs spark fine.
Ive put wet tissue on all the four pipes when warming up, all hiss/water drys right away.
The problem did get better - would only 'splutter/die' a few times - mainly in lower gear/slow speeds/pulling off.
I took it apart again, cleaned the HT leads inside - there was a fair bit of crud. I swaped over Ht 1 and 4 - then went for a run.
Runs alot better, and only twice it 'wanted' to splutter but didnt.
Im guessing I need to change the HT coil pack??
But the whole bike just stinks of fuel Confused

Pics of old plugs as asked

When i took the new plugs out to check, 1 and 4 were fine. However 2 and 3 were slightly covered in oil.

Did you dry the leads too - inside where they meet the sparks?

TBH, Louise if my sparks looked like that, I'd lob them, and replace with new ones. Thumbs Up

Hopefully by bumping this thread back up, the others will come back with more advice...

Firstly. Those pictures of the sparking plags are dreadfull.
You are far to close to the plugs to permit a sharp image.
Move the camera back to about 16".

Second. The plugs look usable but if you say the symptom improves as you clean the electrics then look at replacing the HT leads. And if doing that may as well do all four plugs too.
Does this engine have individual coil units? If so you may need dealer help to identify the one/s that are bad. If plugs HT leads don't help.
Or some Dude on here may have a easy way to check.
Ignition systems are normally cheaper to fix than fuel systems.

Apology accepted. Smile

Sorry for speileng Plugs as Plags. Plags are useless in a modern motorcycle engine.
