It is worth contesting against. It is silly, because the 15 yards to the left of your bike looks like space enough to walk around it considering it is not part of the road...
I would say this though, you've crossed out your licence plate on your penalty charge but not on the picture of the rear of your bike ____________________ CBT: 12/06/10, Theory: 22/09/10, Module 1: 09/11/10, Module 2: 19/01/11

It's always worth appealing a parking ticket.
That said. Technically there is a parking restriction in force there so an appeal "Because it's stupid, I wasn't in the way." is likely to fail. They live by the letter of the law.
Two tacks I'd think of 1) If the bit you're parked on isn't actually part of the street but instead belongs to whoever owns the carpark.
2) Check carefully for any errors with the yellow line markings. They need to be the correct width, unbroken and finish with a T-bar across the end.
Seems stupid. But you are more likely to suceed in an appeal on the basis that the yellow lines are 1/2" too narrow than by appealing to common sense. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. You could always try the "No Contract" approach if you feel lucky, or are determined to be difficult. Look on sites such as Lawful Rebellion or tpuc.org for more info. |

if it is your first one there you will probably get off with it. however, im my experience they go on to say if you do it again you will be charged. i think writing to the council on this matter may well help for future parking.
oh and on a side note, fucking parking nazis!!!!
hate them, sorry u got stung ____________________

Your uni should have a 'site maintenance' or 'estates' department, and I bet they'll know whether they own that land or not. ____________________ CBT February 2008 | A2 June 2008 | Yamaha YBR125 (written off) | Honda CBF125 (current) |

Only if you're a proper mental! (government is free to make statute law to override common law, birth certificates do not 'create' an individual, sending post back means nothing, parliament doesn't need your consent, that rests with big liz etc. etc.)
Appeal based on the facts. They want to do you for parking in a restricted street, you're clearly off the road.
There's never any reason not appeal a PCN like this. Get some photos of the signage, chances are they're incorrect. Same for markings, if they've recently had works carried out, chances are they're wrong.
The best one is when they decide to change the street name and forget not to update the traffic regulation order!
First, get them to send you the photos when you appeal. Hopefully they'll include the incorrect signage (or lack thereof) and you won't even have to go out! ____________________ '11 CBF1000A, '99 C90, '98 CB500

A good get out is.......your bike had broken down and you went to get some help! Back this up with a letter from a mechanic that fixed your bike ....it never fails |
