I normally wait until I have stopped, then put my left foot down. ____________________ Suzuki GSF600 K3 (in the fastest colour, black). |

Sometimes I try and get to a stop before I put my foot down. But that only makes me loose my balance and I end putting my right foot down ____________________ CBT: 12/06/10, Theory: 22/09/10, Module 1: 09/11/10, Module 2: 19/01/11

God knows, I've never thought about it. As long as I put at least one down before falling over then it's all groovy. ____________________ MKGaming.com

I use the engine braking on the SV, so won't get my left foot down really early but I'll be ready as soon as I can! I rarely put my right foot down, as I tend to sit on the back brake! Sometimes if I know I'll be stopped for a bit or my left hand needs a wiggle then I'll kick into neutral as I approach the stop and get both feet down; I'll stop, but always get my left foot down first! ____________________ 'The core of a man's spirit comes from new experiences'

nothing worse then going to put a foot down and your shoe laces have caught on the shifter.... poo yourself moment if you do it late. when im wearing boots or trainers with loose laces i always come off the peg early. bet it leads to some funny lolz though seeing someone tipover, not nice on the bike or the knees i suspect though. ____________________

On my old Z1's etc I sometimes used to lock the rear wheel, slide the back sideways into a parking spot while flipping out the sidestand with the left foot & come to a halt with the bike resting on the stand with both feet still on the pegs..
Haven't done that in a while tho.... |

Depends on the road surface and camber etc which foot I put down... but usually the right one under normal circumstances, and usually a simultaneous move just as the bike stops.
...although I make sure I have both feet hovering out to the sides if we're two up ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

I nudge down into first as I am rolling to a stop, keep right foot up and brake, and put the left foot down pretty much the moment I stop. Cant keep a motorbike balanced when I stop. |

In my days despatching, you were considered a complete bender if you put your foot down when not absolutely unavoidable And so I learned to balance on hideous old crap like Plastic Maggots and Superdreams even at a standstill (for a few seconds at least). I rarely put my foot down on the RXS during a journey, but I've had 20 years of practice on that. ____________________ The RXS100: vehicle of choice for Chuck Norris |
