Are you sure it's the forks that are creaking? Could it not be the fairing is rubbing somewhere when the forks are compressed? ____________________ A Guide To Powerbands |

Most likely the brakes creaking.
Could be a hose chaffing in the fairing or through an eye though.
Have a look see of the brake hose(s) & Speedo cable are all in thier guides, and check gromets.
If you have braided hose, its narrower than stock rubber hose, and some guides have grommets that grip the std hose. Put on a braided, the gromet dont grip & the hose chaffs, & being braided steel, wears through the rubber.... grommet pops, and they you get grating noise as braided steel rubs on guide!
More likely accumulated brake dist on caliper float-pins, though, and or in & around the pads.
Wip out the pads, clean, coppa-slip, put'em back.
If that dont cure it, wip the calipers off, pill the calipers off the float-pins, clean, coppa-slip, re-assemble, see if that works.
Another one is the mudguard.... check the mounting bolts... if loose, can twist or shift under braking & give rubbing / grating noises, esp if the brake hose or speedo cable have guides clipped to it to help make it move when the forks compress.
Basically, poke-prod, scratch head, bounce, twist, tug, looking for something a bit wiered or unusual, and a little preventative maintenence, should sort it out. ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

Have you tried spraying some brake cleaner into the floating rivets? When they get gobbed up it causes the discs to squeal & grind sometimes. Make sure you wipe the discs well afterwards. |
