It's a Honda CB125T
The Haynes manual would be best, because it covers many years and sub models.. ____________________ CBT: 12/06/10, Theory: 22/09/10, Module 1: 09/11/10, Module 2: 19/01/11

Cos it's a CB125, not a CG , and is therefore a 125 twin.
Edit; except the seller claims it has only one cylinder but two exhaust ports, so actually it seems it's not a true twin. How odd.

Easy way to tell if it's a twin, count the sparkplugs. Yours has one so it's a single (yes, some bikes do have twin plugs but not a 125 learner bike).
If it's a CB125T it really SHOULD be a twin. They did a CB125 T(win) and a CB125S(ingle).
Doesn't look like a CB125T engine though. Odd.
Doesn't look like a honda either. Honda badge up loads of bits. I would expect to see Honda logos on the key, keyhole surround, dash and on a little plastic grille over the horn.
Engine casings don't look like honda ones either
Looks a bit like a Chinese engine. In fact, it looks a lot like a chinese engine. Thanks to my epic googling skills, I deduce it bears more than a passing resemblance to a Lifan model 156 FMI engine also fitted to Kinroad, and Jailun among others.
https://www.china-parts.co.uk/acatalog/New_Engines.html
On the plus side. Lifan engines are one of the better ones, A mate had one and it took a lot of abuse. Frame cracked in the end though. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

Snowie turned up a few of these researching the CB125TD-C she's got, as the first Super-Dream we bought her had the Super-Dream body-work, but T-shock rear suspension like that. (Though 2cyl engine.... turned out it was a home-butchered Super-Dream, but that's another story)
Wheels & Bodywork are the same patern as the last of the line CB125TD-J Super-Dreams, & I think took tubless tyres.... which I believe are awkward to get hold of in that sizing.
But T-shock rear suspension...... which suggests either CG125, or CB100N or more likely Tiwanese Market CB125S frame.
Snowie got LOTS of hits for Tiwanese CB125 owners blogs, either the CG styled single, but with OHC engine, or, like that one, Super-Dream bodywork over T-Shock frame with splay-port motor.
I think we came accross a couple in the UK on e-bay & pre-loved.
Suggestion is that its a Tiwanese 'Bitsa' grey-imported to the UK.
Aparently there were a few batches of Far-Eastern market Honda's found there way into britain by the back ddoor around 2002/2003, Honda weren't very happy about. Possibly one of them. ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

No question in my eyes it's chinese. My Huoniao HN125 has the EXACT same single pot twin exhaust engine. It's exactly the same, to the last detail (but with Huoniao written on it).
Oh, and does the V5 not mean anything these days!? ____________________ 57 Huoniao HN125-8 - , 97 Kawasaki GPZ500S -

Oh and the engine itself is a copy of a CG design. just with the twin ports. Don't think that justifies a Honda badge though ____________________ 57 Huoniao HN125-8 - , 97 Kawasaki GPZ500S -

Sorry for the slow response I've been over most of the bike looking for logos and the like, can't find anything thats not either
A) an easy to apply honda logo sticker or engine cover
or
B) a generic chinese brand
So I've no idea if its a cobbled together frankenstein of a bike or a rebadged chinese bike. The best contender I've found is the kinroad xt125-d its hard to tell from such a small picture but I'd say it looks very similar to my bike just different colours
The bike does what I need it to for now since my route to work is all 30 or 40 limits until I get some cash together for the full license and the more time I spend on bikes the easier the test should be right? |
