Some people are just scum.

Came out this morning to see my thundercat on its side.
The scumbags have had a go at the disc lock, failed, and decided to push it over instead.

Knackered clutch lever, wing mirror, indicator and cracked and scuffed fairings.

Police have been round but unless they match some prints up they're not going to catch anyone. Does my head in! Probably little scrotes round here.

I guess it's a good case for having an alarm that would've scared 'em off, but at least i still have my bike. Only thing is what do i do now? I cant get it through my gate, so it has to go in front of the car on the private car park round the back, what's to stop them coming back?

Chain it to a street lamp with a huge chain. If no street lamps, sink a ground anchor somewhere. Widen your gate. Get a cheap ebay alarm. Get an alarmed disc lock (xena).

Agh, sorry to hear this.

When I was young we had a guy with a silver Ducati (851?) at the end of the road. One night the local chavs decided to try to steal it. Just round the corner from his house they failed to hotwire it so decided to jump up and down on it after throwing it down the road...

Similar thing happened to mine in Manchester too a couple of weeks ago... I'll upload a picture of the damage the little scrotes did to my ignition.

I had a Xena disk lock alarm on.
And a HUGE chain wrapped around the front wheel/forks...
And they still dug in my ignition!

Haven't left it outside again since.

Sorry to hear about the attempted theft and the damage to your bike.

I would definitely get a chain, as a disc lock is not much use on it's own. It may have saved your bike from the local scroats, but more serious thieves will pick it up and put it in the back of a van.

Get a good chain and chain it to something solid, street sign, lamp post, metal fence.

Better option is to get your gate widened and park it in front of your house.

Cheers guys. Definitely going to be getting an alarm of some kind.

Cant really widen the gate, as i'm renting and it would involve sawing chunks out of the back fence.

I'm in a row of about 6 houses, with parking for them behind the houses, so there's nothing to chain it to, just parking bays.

Bikes currently sat outside looking sorry for itself waiting to be dusted down for prints (like they'll find any others than mine).

Sounds stupid but why couldn't they have just buggered off after failing to take the disc lock off instead of knocking it over lol.

Mine was literally right outside my front door (the front wheel was maybe an inch away).
They must have been digging away at the ignition for most the night.

Are you allocated parking bays?

You could make a anchor, by filling something BIG with concrete and place a big metal hook in it, for a chain to go through.

Something like a big(ish) oil drum.

Make sure it is heavy, and when/if you move it can be moved (with help from a few friends). With that chained to the bike it might help deter others

Didn't see the point in trying to dig in my ignition as the chain i had on the front wheel is monstrous.
It came with about 8 keys, because apparently if i lose the key the only people who can cut it are the fire service..

And a disk lock.. but they still had a go!

I wanted to leave it outside again the next night and just sit behind my front door waiting for them to come back again with a steel baseball bat, but my Mrs stopped me.

In fact if anyone fancies wasting some little bastard thieves with me just shout haha.

An alarm wont stop them trying. If you can hear it, it just alerts you to come running out with the baseball bat, claw hammer, axe of your choice. That still wont stop them.

Disc locks are crap. Get an Almax Immobiliser III or IV and a BIG ground anchor or like someone said use the lamp post. Neither of these stops them smashing or torching it cos they cant have it so neither will you. It's also fireworks season for the next month with makes it especially vulnerable to incendiary attacks.

If I was you I'd bring it in to the hall or kitchen for a while if possible. If you cant do that see if you can use someone's garage or yard till the heat dies down. And you still need a chain and anchor for the garage or yard options.

Sorry to hear, but at least you've still got the bike.

Sounds like local chavs, anyone serious and interested in coming back probably would have left it upright, so you didnt realise and ultimately so they didnt damage what they would be hoping to take.

It stinks really, not only have they tried taking our stuff, but when they fail they feel the need to damage it in some kind of perverted 'justice' for not being able to take it.

One of those wish you caught them doing it moments.
