Okay, so when I test rode the GN250 I'm buying, if I'mfull throttling it picking up some speed, And I change gear quickly and drop the clutch back in quickly, it sorta slips for about a second before gripping. the bitepoint of the clutch seems very high on the lever too.
Would you say adjusting the clutch so that the bite is nearer to the middle would allow more pressure from the springs to grip it all together? or is this a sign of worn friction plates?

If there is free-play of about 5 mm in the lever it is adjusted right. It could be oil related, the cable may be binding a requiring oil or the clutch could be worn.

That will definitely cause the problem, as will a corroded cable.

Roy.

Yeah common problem, I have had this a few times when the friction plates wear out, they are fairly cheap and easy to fit how, ever it may just need an oil change 1.3 LT, Semi Synthetic SAE 10-40

Manual here you can download it as it will show you the clutch configuration and sequence of order in which to fit the friction plates. If metal plated in between have no indentations on them change them too.

Yeah make sure cable is fairly free and easy to full via the lever, and make sure there's a little play in the clutch lever before it compresses.
