Well been looking about and best I've found is £5.99 pm covers all.

https://www.protectyourbubble.com/ip-iphone-insurance.html

But.....it's £75 excess! Is there any out there with a better deal?

Thanks

Jeff

Compared to the insurance that 02 offer you, thats a better deal.

02 charge you £10 a month and it's £100 excess (might be slightly more). To be honest, if you "lose" it just before your contracts up, pay £75 excess for replacement, then sell it for £350-400, you're still making a tidy profit.

Mine covers loss, damage, dropping it down the bog(water damage) and theft (with a police incident number).

BUT if it does get stolen it will not cover you for the amount of calls made to Poland between the time it is stolen and the time you get it blocked by the network.

If you have a paid bank account like royalties gold, they now cover you up to £1000 as part of your account.

Me and the missus have our iphones insured.

Its £12 a month BUT

free breakdown cover
25% off tickets
up to 50% off hotels and restaurants
discounts on flights

the list goes on

Any policies you want to buy actually read the small print. I looked at one that didn;t cover muggings or 'unexampled loss'

The issue with claiming on your house insurance which i did do is it will bump up your excess. My son smashed my HTC HD when it first came out, my house insurance tried to say they only cover up to xxx amount for phones but i argued its a smartphone so a mini laptop and they paid out.

ahem, i may just add - ive recently claimed off a barclays paid account for a IP 3G.

thats was 2 months ago

rang them and they posted me a form by 2nd class (no emails has to be post) which you then must post back. then the wanted proof of purchase, then proof of usage, then proff of warranty exchange (the screen stopped working apple shop gave me new one) and thats where i am now. fucking worthless.

i cancelled my paid account Thumbs Down

on the other hand, a friend had his insurance with O2 (£25 excess btw) and he went in and said his dell steak wasnt working at lunchtime, next day at 9:30 am a guy turned up at his work and took the old one away and gave him a new one

it was a barclays additions account btw, and lloyds use the same company for phone, travel insurance ect aswell.

How long did your mate have the Dell Streak? A lot of companies will do a DOA (dead on arrival) swap out within 14 days. I called HTC for a warranty repair on my Hero, they send courier collected and returned my phone FOC, i live in the highlands so i think their courier cost would have been £30 to collect and £20 to deliver.
