I broke the lid off a bottle of Evian bottled water tonight and it got me thinking...



I thought to myself, how easy it was for the cap to break off and wondered if the water company intentionally made their caps inferior, so that they will break after a couple of openings/closings.

Thus, you would need to buy a new bottle of water instead of just filling the original bottle with normal tap water - losing the company sales.

What's your thoughts on this ?

My thoughts are that you should wear a tinfoil hat and hide under the table.

I've never understood why this Volvic or whatever it's called, has supposedly filtered through layers of volcanic rock for goodness knows how many years...

That's because it is now sitting still inside a bottle without fresh air and it's no longer being filtered by volcanic rocks to keep it fresh.

I was led to believe it was due to some horseshit story about the plastic eventually leeching into the water.

I must admit, the time I went up north... Went to dunoon....All I ever drunk was the water from the falls.
Right from the falls, it did taste fresh, id fill my bottle up all the time.
Its not like this bottle evian stuff, ect ect.
Now im back down south. . . water is water.

They don't break anywhere near enough to be a viable money making conspiracy. However at gigs and other events they sell bottles without caps probably for the reason you stated above.

Dunno how long does it take to absorb chemicals like Bisphenol A, leeched from the plastic bottle to whatever degree of concentration?

The opening of a bottle is worse without a cap on it. I've had my eyebrow split open by one. Neutral

A cap weighing 2.5g isn't going to hurt any more than a bottle without it on.
