Anyone know of any cheap places to get bike gear thats similar to the outlet centre in swindon? Need to get some waterproofs/thermals on the cheap but need to be able to try them on...
Im currently just north of London so anywhere thats closer than swindon would be a bonus
Cheers

Do you need to buy bike thermals? They do tend to be more expensive as they are sport specific and have patches where the wind gets to, but normal thermals would probably do the job as well. I know one of my mates got his from somewhere like Aldi or Lidl's and they were very reasonable. I'm gussing that lots of high street places sell thermals or even Army Surplus. Army Surplus are good for goretex gear too.

Just a thought Confused

Lidl had some thermals on last week, they're probably all gone by now.

Cheers, i'll keep that in mind, was also looking at a waterproof and lined one piece like the spada system suit. Anyone any experience with things like that?

Sometimes they have good deals on; the rest of the time, while they aren't incredibly cheap, they're at least reasonably priced for reasonable quality kit.
Ie their leathers are easily up the quality of 'brands names' that come in at twice the price.

Yep a whole floor dedicated to it. Nice staff too.

Basement is the outlet/mechanics area
Ground is bike sales.
1st floor is new kit, accessories and parts counter.

I bought an RST waterproof one piece and find it a real struggle to wear it - I slide all over the seat in it and it flaps about and that irritates me - OK I know I'm overly sensitive but it is definitely the little things in life that rankle!

Are you sure you don't want textile 2 piece? Or perhaps go to TKMaxx and buy cheap skiing salopettes - waterproof and fabric just no armour or pockets for armour I guess Confused

Well I am on my third pair of low-mid priced textile trousers and all of them have leaked if i ride for longer than about half hour in heavy rain. Now i know people will say well spend more in one go and get expensive ones that are actually waterproof like goretex or whatever but i honestly dont have the money for that Sad Also my FT XTi jacket has been brilliant for over 3 years but has just started to give up in the rain and its getting a tad on the small side so i thought a thermal lined and armoured one peice will solve all of my problems...?

Also TCX sport waterproof boots are not waterproof, dont buy them Idea haha
