Which Phone for best Google Maps experience?

Need to get a new phone, something like an iphone/samsung galaxy s/HTC, quick loadup times for google maps/offline map app are a must, Any suggestions?

With a good internet connection I'd say the iPhone is quicker than my computer at loading google maps.

The iPhone 4 finds your location quickly and accurately using a combination of GPS shows you where you are actually located with a little green dot. I used it loads of times when finding my way round towns I was unfamiliar with whilst looking for bike shops.
That little green dot moves as you walk, you got to move the phone in a figure of 8 though to get it to recalibrate sometimes.
Worked for me.

If you don't want to pay for an over priced POS get the HTC desire or Desire HD.

Google maps is fab on that. I use sat nav on it fairly regularly.

Works very nicely on my Dell Streak. GPS locks on in about 3 or 4 seconds. However I probably wouldn't recommend it due to Dell being bilends about their updates.

My Mum has a HTC Desire and Google Maps is just as good. When you use the navigation it loads the route and the area around it so if you lose your signal it will still work OK. Sat-nav programs that work offline are pretty cheap on Android market too, but I've found Google's offerings that good that I've never felt the need to get one.

Got a HTC Wildfire, use maps for work deliveries alot it's very good....was better then my iPhone 3G

The mrs has just got a desire HD, which has a pretty pimping 'car mode' basically a tomtom style overlay to the maps app. Very well integrated with the phone as well (i.e. search for a shop you get the option to call/email/navigate to).

Haven't tried the others I but just did a test on my iphone, it took 7 second in total to show my location and the surrounding map from the main screen. This was inside a building on 3g. It took 4 to load the app and for me to press the where am I button, 1 second to find where I was and then 2 seconds to load the lap.
