hi all, i have a small dilemma, well
i was told that to obtain a cat A2 license i must do my tests on a cat A1 bike. that's fair enough, im happy with that
but my problem is that my bike doesn't appear on a list of cat A bikes.
my bike is a Honda CB 125 T2 (1981). but but the CB 125 superdream as it is very similar (1982~),
i thought i would bring it to you to see if you Think my older bike might pass as a super dream..
if you dont understand anything, ill put more explanation in ____________________ Suzuki TS 50 1999 Honda CB 125 t2 1981 Yamaha XJ 600 s Diversion Honda cx 500 MZ ETZ 250 1985 Yamaha FZR 400 1981 Suzuki TS 185 1984 Triumph bonneville 790 2001 MZ TS250 1979 Suzuki sv 650 1999 KTM exc RFS 450 2007 Hercules mx 125 1976

I meant A2 restricted license
after when i bought my bike a found a list of specs and it says 17.5 but that 'Might' have been when it was new, 30 odd years ago...
so it looks like i need to do my license on a different bike? or is there a loop hole as it is old? ____________________ Suzuki TS 50 1999 Honda CB 125 t2 1981 Yamaha XJ 600 s Diversion Honda cx 500 MZ ETZ 250 1985 Yamaha FZR 400 1981 Suzuki TS 185 1984 Triumph bonneville 790 2001 MZ TS250 1979 Suzuki sv 650 1999 KTM exc RFS 450 2007 Hercules mx 125 1976 |

Being as it's 30 years old, a big clogged up and the carbs arn't the best of sync, possibly he has lost a number of hp to the actual output of the wheels... ____________________ CBT: 12/06/10, Theory: 22/09/10, Module 1: 09/11/10, Module 2: 19/01/11

It's entirely up to the whim of the examiner on the day. I booked A2 and turned up with a printout showing my cheap Chinese bike is listed as A2, but didn't even get asked about it. However, I have heard of people doing their test and being told "Congratulations, you've passed. Now here's your A1 joke license..."
Some clarifications:
A1 and A2 are currently [*] DSA bike categories. There's currently [*] no such thing as an A2 license from DVLA. If you sit on an A1 bike (<100kph), you get an "A1 light" license that only allows you to ride 125s <11kW. If you sit on an A2 bike you get an "A (restricted)" license with a 25kW limit that automatically upgrades to unrestricted A after 2 years.
You want your bike to be A2. The most recent list is here, and doesn't show either the CB 125 T2 or the Superdream.
However, it does have a mysterious "@125 or Dylan" listing, which might (God alone knows) mean "any other 125 Honda". Most Hondas (most bikes, really) are A2. However the list does say that if in any doubt, examiners must assume the lower category.
So, don't listen to anyone here, me included. Call the local DSA test centre and ask. They're the only people who matter.
[*] All this is going to change with the 3rd European Driving License directive by 2013. |

Dylan is a 125 honda moped there are thousands in the city. Honestly I would put money that the instructor wouldn't no or care where your bike is valid. It is a 125 that is all that matters. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. If you want to save the world, you have to push a few old ladies down the stairs.
Skudd:- Perhaps she just thinks you are a window licker and is being nice just in case she becomes another Jill Dando.
WANTED:- Fujinon (Fuji) M42 (Screw on) lenses, let me know if you have anything. |

Could you let us know the outcome just so anyone else reading this and has the same bike can be in the know. |
Sorry for the ressurection, but..
he shot off an e-mail and they said basically that it should be dyno'ed and then it would be to the examiners discretion.
So, with that in mind, plus the fact that the bike isn't on top form regarding idling issues and stuff.
he is doing it on my CG. he got added to the insurance for £30- because we're both with the same company
he did his module 1 and got it first time- his module 2 is in April- Again, he will use my bike. ____________________ CBT: 12/06/10, Theory: 22/09/10, Module 1: 09/11/10, Module 2: 19/01/11
