Sell CBR125 for £900

Add £600 you were going to spend on the 125 to that £900

Spend £1500 on a GSXR SRAD or something.

Be happy.

Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Wavy front disk??? You can make about 80mph at the most realistically right?? Laughing.

Also big bore kit wont give you a performance boost comparable to the cost.

Basically you could buy a bike like mine (an ER-5) for the same amount as those parts, I can gaurntee the ER-5 would be better than the cbr would be.. even with those parts on Laughing.

Lol, it's just as a tinker toy, I will be getting a bigger bike soon anyway, but was thinking I may aswell have some fun with my 125. Smile

Why so much negativity? Yes I'm aware I wont get that much for it when I come to sell it but that wont be for a while as I plan on keeping it for a bit for some fun.

I haven't bought the parts, it's just a wish-list. Smile

If you're going to put a bigger cylinder in, you may aswell just put the CBR125's plates on a bigger bike Laughing

But you wont though, you will waste your money on a CBR125, realise you haven't made an ok-ish bike any better and realise that the money you have spent and could get from selling the CBR125 would put you on a big bike, which will be millions time better than a CBR125, the CBR125 isn't even that good of a 125.

think about it sensibly, are you really going to ride it after you pass your test, you can only ride one bike at a time, and when you ride a bigger bike you can see how crap the CBR125 really is, then you will realise you have wasted time and money on it, maybe if you were spending you cash on an RS125 it would be slightly different as at least you can get decent power out of it when you pass your test and de-restrict it, giving you time to save up and buy a decent big bike.

But I wouldn't be spending any money on an a CBR125 other than to tax, insure, mot and put fuel in it.

Negativity. Hmm..

Maybe its because a lot of us have spent money on shit bikes before, lowered their value, lost money and regretted it? Or maybe its because we can see that you might as well find a deep hole and throw £50 notes into it, for the good it will do.

There is nothing wrong at all with modifying a bike, whatever it is and whatever size the engine. Just as long as you realise you will not get the money back in resale value, so keeping the original parts and putting them back on when you sell them it probably the best thing to do, then sell the parts you brought, seperately.

Yes, you can buy a faster bike for the value of the CBR + mods listed, so what? Thats not the point here. Confused

I've spend loads on my ZXR, thousands. I do it because I love working on it and improving it. I could go out and buy a brand new 1198 if I wanted to, but where it the fun in that!? Wink

Thumbs Up

What a pointless shopping list.

The funniest bits are spending all that, then buying standard pads and a heidenau tyre.

If you want to enjoy the bike, spend the money on a pair of really grippy tyres and some decent brake pads and just ride the thing. If you do all of that to it you'll break something, not get it running right on the big bore kit, then regret it. You'll also be riding illegally.

Do your test. If you have £600 to burn, spend a chunk on lessons, you won't know how much you have to learn about riding well and enjoying it until someone else shows you.

Spending £600 on that lot won't make it any more fun to ride than it already is - ride it stock and put the 600 towards your test Smile
