Im 12 days into not shaving as im growing a beard as a bet, now 2 things are worrying me.
Firstly, its ginger. WTF. Ive got brown hair and a black and ginger beard. I look like a fucking alsation. ( I know not alot can be done about this)

Secondly, its fecking itchy. Like unbearably itchy, having never gone more than 3 days without shaving ive never had this. What can I do to stop the constant itch?? (bar from shave it)

Cheers Tom

Yep mine also goes ginger, can't wait till I'm 60 with a grey beard. And yes it itchs aswell, can't help with that either other than to say stop itching it, some days it does and some it doesn't. Only really starts itching for me when I start scrating at it. I tend to rub my chin alot when bored and unconciously itch it aswell.

I find washing it with the same shampoo that works well for your hair stops it from itching. What I mean by that is some shampoo makes my hair itch and others don't.

Also you do just get used to it after a while.

It wasn't until I was in my 30s that my beard lost the last of ginger tendencies. By the time I hit 40 it was all white/grey anyway.

I was trimming my goatee last week and talking at the same time, I angled the one side to far over and fucked it up, had to shave it all off and start again, I'd got it at a decent length aswell...

Pissed me right off...

Yeah, if its a new beard, you're going to be rubbing it and playing with it. I know i did, i was proud of it, so i kept touching it like some gay.

Get over this urge and it'll stop the itch. Because your hands are grubby, and you'll be transferring dirt into the pores under the hair which makes it itch.

secondly, and i dont care what anyone says...

CONDITIONER

Nick some of your girlfriends, and use it on yer beard to make it nice and soft which will reduce itching. Besides, your missus will love you for it if you eat from the forbidden pie Wink

Hair serum does make it nice and soft.

Although in the matter of the texture of beard hair on the clam, a slight coarseness of beard makes for interesting sensation. Depends on preference and technique, I suppose. If your bloke is grinding away for hours down there, then its gonna be uncomfortable with a scratchy beard.

Re ginger: who cares what colour it is, so long as it tickles the thighs in a pleasing manner.

Just leave it - once it gets past a certain length it stops itching.

Ginger beards seem to be common even if you have no ginger hair anywhere else
the itching goes away after a while, don't think I've been clean shaven in the last 10 years
I always keep at least my tash and goatee, and yes its a mix of ginger brown and grey Thumbs Up

Careful, it's a slippery slope.

Next you'll be wanting a pipe to go with that.

The BMW bike will not be far behind.

If I had the know-how,I'd post a pic of beardy moi.
Mostly I have a beard.
For a few months this past summer I shaved it off.
Only the 3rd time I've shaved it off in 20+ years, and I can say from itchy experience the worst part is week 3 - to - 5.
After that,my beard does it's own thing, before that it's just stubble.
For those 3 weeks-E45 shampoo is Gods Own 'anti-itch' Gift from Heaven.
[plus it makes my skin SOOOOO soft.....chase me]
