After being stored for that long some seals and stuff will have probably perished. Be prepared to do a full rebuild.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

It depends what it is tbh. With it being relatively new, if it's a smallframe it will be naff and not worth much as a whole unless it is absolutely stunning, although people will be interested in the parts as all the smallframes share a lot of parts, particularly engine parts etc. For instance the electric start PKXL models IIRC have a better crank that will take a Malossi cylinder kit without upgrading.

Large frame like a T5 or PX125 etc will be worth more as a whole, however people will still be after the bits for projects and spares I would imagine.

If you break it up for parts on eBay you are sure to make a killing, a lot of the scooter parts on there are inflated way above their actual value yet people still buy them. Especially if it has stuff like chrome crash bars and luggage rack on it, that's £100 straight away.

Does it say what model it is on the log book?

Main give away is the side panels:

https://www.nycscootering.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/small_largeframes.jpg

On the large frames the side panel is the whole convex part on the side of the frame, and on the small frame the side panels are like a flat door inside the convex part.

https://www.scooterhelp.com/serial/ves.frame.serial.numbers.html

This site might help you find out what model it is and make it easier to sell.

I'm guessing it will be a PX125 unless it has loads of tacky plastic bits and a square headlight, in which case it's a T5.

Appears to be a PX125E with a slightly older engine in it. Not sure whether this has had an engine swap in its life, or whether it came new like this.

It's worth bearing in mind that by this stage Douglas didn't actually build the scooters, they were just the UK importer. Maybe they put these older engines in from the factory or something?

Good thing. The Douglas bit basically means it is a proper UK model Vespa, not a European import or Indian copy. Make sure you tout this bit when you come to sell it. Thumbs Up

its a shame that the px series are so damn ugly, other wise i'd say rebuild, too be fair, they generally are more effort than they are worth 99% of the time,

but vespas do look cool, as far as skoots go,
good luck selling,
chuck up some pics

some of the olde3r vespas are pretty cool, the ss180 and the sprints,
even some of the small frames are pretty ace, and pretty tunable, nothing on modern scoots as far as power or handling or brakes (terrible handling on old vespas), but they do have a certain charm,
i'd like to do a 180ss water cooled conversion, and actually see how much power i could get.
