No not a rolling road but an actual dyno....

Well I have! Smile

197bhp and 158lbft from a 1.9 engine. No dodgy conversions from wheel power to flywheel power either!

Nice numbers, but I can walk faster than that.

Yes, had my GPZ500S dynoed a few years ago, from a claimed 60bhp from Kawasaki it had 59bhp at the crank.

Although after the dyno, the bike never ran properly afterwards and ended up having to have a replacement engine. At the time I seem to remember I blamed it on the trackday I did on it, but I am now convinced it was the dyno. :-/

He's asking about a dyno, not a rolling road. I had my VFR on a rolling road to check it was all okay before i started to fettle it.

Im stupid and unaware of the difference, but engine makes ~400hp, not sure on the torque... but it cant be all bad.

Also near 200 from a 1.9... cutting it fine arent we sir? my 1.8T was making 161... and im pretty sure thats before the engine starts to suffer on that car, obviously if its a jap car.. i fully understand Wink

My bike came with dyno traces from the previous owner trying the stock exhaust against a different end can when it was about a year ld. Academic now as it had an entirely different exhaust on it when I got it.

It's a French Peugeot engine and not even near the limits, I'm half tempted to go for 250 next build...

Either way near enough 200bhp in a 205 Gti should give a few people a bit of a suprise!

Catcams and throttle bodies with an 8 injector setup.

Next stage would be pistons with deep valve cutouts so you can have more lift and also some work to the cylinder head.

If anyone is actually interested you can read more https://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?showtopic=118853

Cool, just had a quick look at some of those pics, reminded me of the days I used to rebuild 5 turbo engines. Looking through the engine block and seeing the garage floor brought back memories! Very Happy

I'll have a proper read through later.

Thumbs Up

Just read the build thread, looks like a very good, clean build.

Thumbs Up
