Went out for a few hours on the YZF today with Rox on the back.
Had to make up some pillion pegs. My gosh is it hard to ride in snow with a pillion. It got that bad on the lanes with the ice, I just sidetracked off the road, and carved through the fields. Laughing

On the hard packed snow, two's up, was giving it a handfull of throttle in 2nd or 3rd gear, and it was picking up the front wheel. Absolutely amazing! What a good day.

Going out green laning tomorrow with a couple of mates. Should be good, will get more pics.

Gutted though, Today I was kick starting teh YZF, Foot slipped off the kick starter and went straight through the side of my Alpinestar boots. £300 down the shitter. Sad

On the exhaust side, I just took out the bolt for the exhaust bracket, put a crash bobbin off my pit bike on there, and used a longer bolt that passes right through the bobbin in to the subframe.

Other side, I used a handle bar riser, Clamped the riser around the subframe, The bolted another bobbin into the threaded hole in the bottom of the bobbin.

They are slightly out of line on each side of the bike, but they worked well and Rox said she felt safe.

you paid 300 notes for a pair of boots that you managed to split just by kicking it? You want to think yourself lucky you didn't have an off in them

Very valid point.

You still in warranty for them?

May be worth getting a pair of second hand boots Idea

You're back with her now?

How did I miss this. Sad

Ah good thinking... i'm contemplating making some for the gasser. Seems a few women folk want to go on the back of it, but the lack of pegs means they can't.

Do you know how hard it is to kick a 450 single?

The end of the kick start went through the stitching along the Zip.
They've been down the road a handful of times anyway. Alpinestar SuperTech's.

I've a fair Idea, had a go on a mates mt500, which is pretty damn hard. Still significantly less force involved than getting trapped between the pegs and the road at speed.

erm. not very?

i've done a 380 EXC in slip on shoes, whereas i guarantee 9 out of 10 people on here wouldnt even be able to start a 380 full stop. let alone first kick every time.

It's the snow that made it more difficult. I've been riding the YZF for a long time now, never had a problem.

But that's way off the point anyway. My point is, There is nothing unusual about the end of my billet kick starter piercing my leather boot due to my foot slipping off the kick starter.

The amount of force going through that kick starter when you kick it is surprisingly high.

Must be really nice having a bike thats good for this weather, mine has been out of action for ages!! Kind of wish I had the rxs100 as that would be fun in the weather!

I feel like there is a massive elephant in the room with this thread.....

Yes Dog, She is Filth. Added bonus eh. Thumbs Up
The subject as arisen a few times now. Every time a little batch of the BCF dick heads jumps aboard the Bull-shit-band-wagon.
People fuck up, people grow up, people forgive. End of.

Took the YZF out gain today, Unfortunately it let me down. Cut out, wouldnt fire again.
Thought it was Carb icing or fouled plug. So stripped plug and coil pack out (Harder than it looks, especially when in the snow), Cleaned plug. Also poured a cup of hot water over the carbs etc.

Started it, it began to start, but not rev out. Absolute cvnt.

After trying to bump it off the back of my mates landrover for about half hour, we were ready to load it into the back of the landrover and head home, then I had a little re-cap of when my NC29 kept cutting out. (Side stand contacts poor, so high rpm - vibration - loss of contact)

Turned out to be a dodgey ignition barrel! Absolute wanker eh.
I practically hot-wired my own bike today. It's been good as gold since.

can you post up some pics of the mock up pegs please? one of my lady-friends wants to go on the back of the CRF. Had a look at the 50-stunt stuff but its a bit over-priced for only 1-2 uses.

cheers
