This happened a few weeks ago, had a call from MCE insurance saying that I had been involved in an accident which wasn't my fault Confused ...'Nooo I haven't, actually I don't even have a policy with you!' MCE guy 'Oh right must be a mistake, I'll sort it out sorry bye'

Laughing

Anyone else had something like this happen?

Have you ever had an accident which is declared on insurance (fault or not)?
If you've got a quote from MCE ever, they're no doubt harvesting your data for claims; a lot of them don't see to have the info about whether or not it was a fault claim passed on.

Good god not a truer word spoken. Was insured with them for two weeks, I recieved 6 letters each one telling me I'm paying a different amount a month (all errors I should ignore). I cancelled and then recieved a letter telling me to settle the acount of £450 (another error I should just ignore), never ever going with MCE again.

I get these calls from different sorts of companies even though the accident in question is one where I hit a pedestrian (I saw "hit", it was more like a tap - bloody pensioners). So they reckon I could claim for an accident I caused, eh? Rolling Eyes

Oh and the bike insurer - never give them your real phone number or email - they always seem to spam you, regardless of what options you tick.

Biggest culprit for me is "MotorcycleDirect dot co dot uk" who have sold my email address (motorcycledirect@my_domain.org, funnily enough) to everyone under the sun. They can suck my tailpipe if they think I'll ever, ever give them any business. I reported it to the ICO, who will do their usual stellar job of doing sod all about it.

Again, that's motorcycledirect dot co dot uk, a bunch of lying thieving scum who you shouldn't trust to hold your bus ticket for five seconds, let alone your insurance policy.

I found out recently if you do one of the price comparison sites then they automatically sell your details.

I keep getting calls about being involved in an accident and I can get up to 3k Confused

second last call went something along the lines of (short version),

Good day sir, can I speak to Mr **** (speaking), how are you today? (good thanks), We have a report that you were involved in an accident that wasn't your fault and you are entitled to up to 3 thousand pounds (you're going to give me money?). Can you tell me when the accident was, and who was in the car at the time, (when do I get my money?), How many people were in the car? (well there was me, my wife, 4 kids, 2 dogs and a budgie), How many people were injured, (it was a total blood bath, I lost both my legs and half an arm, 2 kids were decapitated my wife is paralysed from the nose down, we now have one 8 legged dog and the budgie lost a couple of feathers), And when did this happen? (couple of months ago... my fault entirely though.... so when do I get my money?), I just have to check a couple of details, can you confirm your address for me? (You said you were going to give me money... so will that be cash or cheque?), could you please confirm your address for me please? (you should know it if you have all my details there.... blah blah blah

Last phone call

Hello can I speak to Mr *** (speaking), Good day sir I am calling from *** how are you today? (I was fine till you called.... now fuck off) *click*

I'm fucking pissed off with these companys ringing me and telling me I have had an accident and should claim for it, (4 years no claims on the car, not fell off the bike yet, clean license) I have started asking to speak to the manager then having a good rant about cunts like them pushing my insurance premiums up by offering people money for nothing Middle Finger Middle Finger

I usually end the call with "can I ask one last thing mate? does your phone do this?" Hang up before they reply Thumbs Up

Childish? yeah, but it makes me feel slightly better and I'm not paying for the call Mr. Green

I had the same thing. Tried to tell me I was responsible for an accident 1 year after I sold the bike. It took me over a year to sort it out and eventually give me my 1YNCB.

I get calls from no win no fee arse bandits everytime I get insurance quotes. I have a non fault claim listed so they want to know if I was injured in my 'motorcycle accident'.

What actually happened was someone reversed into my parked car and dented the door.
