My speedo needle is no longer spinning around Sad went out for a hack half way through it jsut went to 0 now wont move even at redline in 6th Rolling Eyes what could be wrong gents? the cable?

heh...I have the same problem! Very Happy...except that I probably cause it, 'cos I took it apart in the first place Rolling Eyes

Anyhoo, to check your speedo cable, simply unplug it from your clocks, and then watch the end of the cable whilst moving your bike forwards/backwards. If the cable is ok, then the cable should rotate.

Alternatively, you can just go a ride, and keep an eye on your Odo/tripmeter.

check the wheel end chaps, if the cable is intact possible cause is the drive tab has broken off in the hub, if so, hmmmm problem. Need hub drive,

that happened to me, the speedo was reading less and less until it was permanently on zero and the tripmeter wasnt working. I found the speedo gearbox had given up.

Take the speedo cable off at the bottom and attatch a drill to it. Start the drill and if the needle moves then you know its the gear thingy in the hub.
