Hi guys,
I'm thinking of getting HID for my SV650s since I can't see anything out of my lights, and I thought it would be a cool idea.
The question I wanted to ask you guys is:
1) The 99 SV model have fringed headlights, will this effect the HID colour or performance or anything in anyway? (Will it still look like I have HID in from my point of view and from other drivers points of view)
2) If I were to fit am automobile HID kit, will it still work on my bike? (It's cheaper than getting a bike conversion kit)
https://www.hidworld.com/cart.php?target=product&product_id=16216&category_id=250
This is the one I'm thinking of getting, there's probably enough space on the SV to fit the ballasts in. Since I know that ballast are dimension 9x7x3 cm
3) Is it really worth it? I mean my bike is an SV650s 99, and I love it to bits but... perhaps HID conversion isn' the right move for it.
4) If 3) is the case then how do I make my headlights a bit brighter and bluer? (Xenon bulbs?)
Help Please!
Thanks in advance! |

Hi, Haven't converted mine yet so cant offer an opinion on if it would work or even be any good - would be interested to know your views on it once you've done it, and if you think it's worth doing.
there's many motorbike specific HID conversion kits on ebay from £30 upwards, the link you've posted seems steep, that said, i'm no expert so i might be talking out of my arse !!
if it would work, this seems cheaper below, i've ordered a few things from N Cook security (bike alarms etc) and found they are well priced, good service and very helpful.
