Hi guys,

I'm thinking of getting HID for my SV650s since I can't see anything out of my lights, and I thought it would be a cool idea.

The question I wanted to ask you guys is:

1) The 99 SV model have fringed headlights, will this effect the HID colour or performance or anything in anyway? (Will it still look like I have HID in from my point of view and from other drivers points of view)

2) If I were to fit am automobile HID kit, will it still work on my bike? (It's cheaper than getting a bike conversion kit)

https://www.hidworld.com/cart.php?target=product&product_id=16216&category_id=250

This is the one I'm thinking of getting, there's probably enough space on the SV to fit the ballasts in. Since I know that ballast are dimension 9x7x3 cm

3) Is it really worth it? I mean my bike is an SV650s 99, and I love it to bits but... perhaps HID conversion isn' the right move for it.

4) If 3) is the case then how do I make my headlights a bit brighter and bluer? (Xenon bulbs?)

Help Please!

Thanks in advance!

Hi, Haven't converted mine yet so cant offer an opinion on if it would work or even be any good - would be interested to know your views on it once you've done it, and if you think it's worth doing.

there's many motorbike specific HID conversion kits on ebay from £30 upwards, the link you've posted seems steep, that said, i'm no expert so i might be talking out of my arse !!

if it would work, this seems cheaper below, i've ordered a few things from N Cook security (bike alarms etc) and found they are well priced, good service and very helpful.

Yeah the problem with that one is, is that it only comes with one bulb and ballast, which means you have to get two... which means it adds up to 80 which makes my posted one a lot cheaper since it comes with Xenon bulbs and free wiring and free shipping and all.

Try just changing bulbs to start with, the light on my ZZR and the current one on the CBR are more than bright enough, neither is HID.
