I thought GRID was good. I hated GTR2. Got NFS Shift a couple of days ago, utter bag of shite. Today I got the bundled Race 07 & GTR Evolution, bugger me, what a gem! It's got the full Nurbergring Nordshliefe and I've been around it a few times in an old 1987 BMW and it's the best racing sim I've driven yet. What a blast! The MOMO is tight and precise like in no other game or sim and the FFB is so good it feels like my body is moving over lumps & bumps etc, never mind my hands. Absolutely sublime.

the new need for speed hot pursuit is a fun game to play. not great as driving sim but a good arcade style racer.
i have f1 2010 but am not going to play it until i can use my wheel and pedals

I've just been racing Race 07 online. Even got pole in the second race (because I finished 8th in Race 1 and grid was reversed )

Only had it a few weeks, but still prefer rFactor to it.

NFS Shift has the worst FFB I've yet encountered in a driving game. I'm glad it wasn't my first, I would probably have blamed the wheel. Truly dire. I have not a shred of doubt he took a bung. An absolute lying scumbag.

I used to play the old Porsche Need For Speed and the force feedback on that was really good (this was a good while ago). You could adjust the different aspects of the force feedback; I had it so that you could just feel it tingle a bit with the revs of the car. I was using a Logitech Driving Force.

It's sickening how that franchise has gone completely down the shitter just to appeal more to chavs than racing sim fans.

I spent a good while trying the get the wheel good in NFS, but it wasn't having it. On any setting bar the stiffest the cars were wandering left and right across the track. The best way to describe it was as if the steering-wheel was connected to the rack with a rubber shaft. Wasted £15 on that PoS.

And then Evo, straight out of the box with zero fiddeling, superb.

Race 07 is superb. Is the wheel/pedals you got ps3 and pc compatible too.

Although the thought of my youngest daughter (3 going on 4, and very into video games) sitting on my knee and driving around the Nurburgring is just too much.
