How Many Pence Per Mile?

Today, when I was bored at work, I worked out it costs me 15p for every mile I travel on the ER5, including all consumables.

How much does your bike cost to run?

I use it all the time to check my MPG. ATM it is costing me 6.4p a mile.

Well I do 180 miles to £10.
Tyres are screwed after 8000k and cost £80 a set.
Brakes unsure how long they last, but im heavy handed.. so say £20 after 5000 miles.

Thats the CBR so to me...very cheap to run.

Supra on the other hand
140 miles to £80
Rear tyres every 5000 at £125 each
Front every 8000 at £100 each
Oil change every 2000 miles, 6 litres fully synthetic castrol... £loads.
Spark plugs every 4000 miles at £64 a set

I think its cheaper to run a Lambo..

Not sure. Biggest cost on something fairly new is depreciation. Fairly easy for that to be 5p a mile on its own. There are also the minor service costs that add up, like spark plugs, air filters, etc.

0.26p/mile or 30 miles for and 8p charge if the marketing blurb is correct.

According to that, my last fill up showed as 24p per mile, with 80 miles to 15.2 litres, at 125.9p per litre.

To be fair, I usually get ~100 miles for the same fuel, but this past couple of weeks I've only used the bike for commuting the 5 mile round trip to work, so there's proportionately a lot of engine warming up/not going anywhere time, and no cruising time to make up the mpgs.

Tax, insurance, MOT, Oil change and tyres (pro rata) = £215 a year

2000 miles, fuel at £1.30, and 62mpg = £190

£405 / 2000 = 0.20p

i get about 100 miles to 10litres.

dont pay much attention to it, and try to fill up every 100miles. think i get 140 r 150 miles to a tank. dunno though

For £185 you cant go wrong. I was thinking you had got one new, due to the pic you had up.

Not sure if mechanics would know how to fix it if it went wrong, or if you could get parts, but for £185, if it ever does stop working, you can just scrap it.

all in all my mile cost including TAX, mot, the cost to insure it, and consumables over a year my cost per mile is 7.1p which is fucking cheap!
