No.

Wireless phone next to wireless hubs can cause interference though.

Filter working properly?

That's all I have. Laughing

It does say that routers should be placed away from cordless phones on every one i've had.

Do you have a filter on every phone socket that is in use?

Is it the wireless network that cuts out or the internet? As in if you connected you computer to the router via an ethernet cable would it still be able to connect to the internet if the phone rang?

cordless phones and wireless routers both use 2.4GHz wavelength. try changing what channel your wireless is using and move the router away from the cordless phone.
Also make sure you have a working micro filter in each phone socket that is in use.

Calling your service provider is the easiest way, they can remotely change the channel the router is on.

Wouldn't it be easier to just go into the router and change the channel?

Each channel actually just shifts the frequency by 10MHz, which is fuck all really. So i doubt switching it will solve the problem on it's own. The router needs moving to a different room ideally.

Hi all, new guy to the forums here.

Just noticed this post, I fix a lot of computers and I have seen this problem a few times, its to do with the way your phone socket is wired up.

if your phone rings, and you get disconnected when you pick-up it will reconnect within a minute or two however it will disconnect AGAIN when the phone is hung up, if you re using a filter then your Filter is faulty you will need a new one, you need a filter on every socket that a phone is connected to.

As for the wireless suggestions these are easy to rule out, just look at your wireless strength when you get disconnected, you will still be connected to the router, but the router is not connected to the internet (although it could be a different problem entirely).

that was quite a lot of words to say, change your filter. Thumbs Up
