Do you get to drive it at a speed where you get decent downforce?

I was thinking of the top gear where they put Hammond in an F1 car on the Stowe circuit at Silverstone. Having ridden their, I know it's little more than a glorified car park - you could see he might just as well have been in a badly setup overly sensitive caterham or something; because he never really got any of the 'good' bits of the F1 car.

Alas, it's only at 3 sisters, so there won't be a great deal of speed involved, just a bit of a taste really. Mind you, I'll be so far from the limits of the car anyway that it wouldn't really matter where!

Gav - I will be working up to it, yeah. Starting in a saloon, then an Aston/Ferrari something, then Formula Ford, then F3, then the F1.

Oh, and it's cost me £1450. Shocked

OUCH!!! Shocked

Should still be a good day, nice few cars and then realise just how nasty the F1 cars are. Very Happy

Not at all jealous or anything.

I don't have to be too jealous, as I'm 6'4" so would never fit in an F1 car anyway Wink

I am aiming to do a Jonathan Palmer Motorsport day this year tho Smile

Remember seeing the gift day experience, something similar and you couldn't be taller than 6ft or 6ft 1" Sad.

Get a group of ten of you tall people together and get this...

Move the peddles to the front a bit and take it on an open pit lane trackday or similar.

Smile

Power to weight may well be better than the F1 car, especially considering they're probably not running that at full-race spec.
