Its rather fun.

A change from the SP1, very few down sides. only 2 i can think of are is that the gearbox is crap, clunky and not very smooth transitions betwee nthe gears and the second point is the rear brake, seems non effective.. ill be looking at that the coming weekend.


Its an amazing bike, sounds good too...

First mods are to get a PCIII and dynoed, and HIDs

Why why why do you have to have an sp1 in my dream colours then sell it and get a bloody Tuono which is one of my other dream bikes.

Yeah the tuono's are well nice, epecially with the akro's on. Saw/heard one yesterday and i think i wee'd a little with excitement

As for my first impressions its amazing. and very confidence inspiring, the front Brembos stop the bike very well and are very controllable. rear brake seems to suffer from the normal RSV fault. But that will get fided

Gearbox shouldn't be too clunky.

Maybe the first few minutes of a ride. The 15W50 oil is very thick and takes a while to warm up and thin out a little, after which the gearbox tends to lose any clunkyness. Apart from neutral to first, which can be a bit crude. But once warmed up, the rest of the changes should be pretty smooth. Certinly no less so than the SP-1, in my experience.

If you're talking about down changes, it could be the 'slipper clutch' which gives quite a different feel to the SP-1 when engaging gears, especially at high revs.

The Firestorm is rather limp wristed now compaired to most Vs but they do sound amazing!
