Hi All, been looking around for a new bike. Sold my newish CBR recently due to having a baby and realised i cant live with just a family car this summer ha! Couldnt really afford to keep and pay everything else it so i've been looking for some thing cheaper near me. I spotted a P reg ZX 6R for £1500 in a dealer near me with 16k on it in very good condition. Well it was on MCN for £1500 but the dealers site says £1795. Question is, is it worth £1500 let alone £1795? from photos its in very good condition with scotoiler, datatag and double bubble on. Couldnt really pull that sort of money out so prob be a finance jobby.

Opinions? Thumbs Up / Thumbs Down

Thanks Very Happy

thats expensive imo for a 1996 zx6r?

Id expect potentially a J model for that money (00-01) or at least a G (98-00)

Had a word with the dealer (main dealer by the way not independant) and £1500 was the sale price but he says he can do it for around that price anyway (dont think he has had to much interest in it, possibly due to the price).

Going to see it tonight so i'm going to have a bit of a haggle with the dealer see what he can do for me. It is in very good condition for its age with a lot of service history.

For that kinda money I'd hold out a little longer and try and get a G/J model.

As an idea, this is already gone, he was asking £1100 for it 'buy it now:

The F series are shit and I wouldn't pay more than £900 for it.

Well, I wouldn't pay over £300 for it to be honest, but that's just me - the G and J series bikes are well within your price range. Shop on eBay.

Bought a 20k J1, with full service history and a few bits and pieces for £1500. It had been down the road before though but was professionally repaired and I fell in love with it.

Was this time last year, so would have thought a tidy G or J would be well in your price range

It's a G model that's been mangled a bit, but for a grand seems quite reasonable.
Ok, lots of components have high mileage, but over all it's definitely worth a look.

So it does. Does the post count mean any thing? I know some forumswhere you had to have more than a certain amount of posts before you could access some sections.

Only the title under your name.

And yes, that post does seem rather redundant in a topic asking for advice.
