 |
|
I woulds like to be able to clean my bike in my garage but I have no mains electric in there and my house is too far from the garage to run an extension.
Solar powered lighting is not an option as installation would leave the solar panel open for vandalism.
Generator is too expensive, noisey and smelly
So what about led track lighting?
Adjustable 12 LED Track Light
https://www.maplin.co.uk/adjustable-12-led-track-light-389501?c=froogle&u=389501&t=module
If I bought 2 of these would they produce enough light to be viable?
All positive comments are appreciated.

Thanks for your replies.
Paddy, clean the bike not wash it
Thanks Skudd but I have a chest problem and fumes wont help it, plus they're noisey.

A small generator is the best plan.
It will be useful in the occasional power cut too.
First one on google / another
I suppose you could run a small invertor off the bike battery for a few minutes. |

I've got a bunch of LED spotlights in my garage, running off a 12v power supply. And for those who suggest running a line from my flat, it's 11 floors up, and about 40 yards away, so it's not really viable.
The led lights work OK, but i'm photophobic, so I can see very well in low light levels. I can't say that I'd recommend it for anyone with normal eyes: it's just too dim.
I'm genuinely considering a generator at this point. ____________________ '10 SV650SF, '83 GS650GT (it lives!), Questionable DIY dash project, 3D Printer project, Lasercutter project |

Have you tried painting your garage white? That makes hell of a lot of difference! ____________________ Rusty '02 Vito Camper + CBR600F3

Inverter for me, and strip lights.
Best buy me thinks
Although I do think to wonder how long they would last off a car battery.
Anyone to shed some light on this matter? Can we mathmatically work this out? |

A leasure battery would last longer really, A car battery is made for supplying lots of amps for a short time ____________________ Hyosung cruise 125(passed test on, sold) Kawasaki el 252 (better than expected but sold on) Kawasaki GPZ500S first "big"bike.(sold) ZZR600 E5..Z750 2007,ER5, currently on a 2008 Enfield bullet electra x and loving it..

Get yourself a small Egyptian boy with a mirror. As you're cleaning your bike, you get to shout "Aziz! Light!" alot. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.
