My bike has no drive until the engine oils warm then it slips massively, I put new clutch plates in today and its still no good, when the engine oils cold there's a really numb feeling in the lever and when its warmed up it feels normal. When I first start it I can let the clutch out in first and nothing happens at all

I'd go with knackered clutch springs and/or a severely notched basket.

Of course, before getting into all that I was assuming that you've made sure the clutch cable is correctly adjusted at the clutch end and level end.

If there's a Haynes manual it should give you some measurements for the springs. I wouldn't get lifan ones though, EBC should do springs if they need doing.

Of course, it is a lifan, so any diagnosis comes with a very large degree of uncertainty. They're so monumentally shit that problems no-one has seen for 40 years can rear their ugly heads. Usual advice, try to get rid of it asap.

Well you can knock it into gear and push it forward and it rolls like its in neutral, I tried the same thing with the clutch cable backed right off just to make sure and it still just rolled forward like it was in neutral

Hi

I don't know the bike at all, but on many bikes there is an adjuster for the clutch as well as for the cable (normally bigger bikes though). Quite easy with these to land up with the clutch adjusted to be slipping all the time.

All the best

Keith
