KTM Dzus fastener alternative

One of my airbox Dzus fasteners went AWOL ... according to the local shop they are £15.06 EACH to replace!! Shocked

They did suggest an alternative mind you ... it is a 'Screw for plastic 6/30' (part # 0017060303) which are 68p for TWO!! - much better!! Very Happy

I know boundy needs one and there might be others of you with the same problem - but with a less clued up KTM dealer!! Thumbs Up

But wont the screw just fuck the Dzus female clip up?

you can get Dzus clips alot cheaper on the Net than that!!!

No, I think it is the same 'pitch' is the same as the Dzus ...

To be fair, those track fairing ones aren't always the right length. My ttr600 has them for the airbox. Standard ones aren't long enough, i cut and welded one longer. Yamaha wanted £28.

I still don't think a screw is good for it, the dzus doesn't exactly have a pitch, more of a slotted groove.

Its a long Dzus, not the standard ones.

At the end of the day it does the trick and at the end of the day, the female bit of the Dzus is only a bit of bent metal ... I can't see it coming to any proper harm ..

I had the same problem with the ttr, i just found some old dzus fastners in the workshop and cut and shut it to the right length, at least it's still quick release Very Happy

These ones are longer than thinner than the standard ones, so a cut-and-shunt probably won't cut the mustard here ...

Seriously, this is not a 'proper' bodge, it is a KTM recommended (and actual KTM) part! Razz
