i am needing a key made up as the original is missing.
is there numbers on the ignition barrel?

can the local locksmith do a copy of this?

Depends if that particular Locksmith will do it or not or you may have to find another one that will.

You need the code from the ignition barrel and he/she should be able to cut a new a key from that.

Otherwise your nearest bike dealership has to order a replacement which may take time to arrive.

all in all I would in both options take your ownership documents + vin no. with you just to reassure the locksmith/dealership that you're the owner and not a thief needing the bike to work!

if you had known the original key numbers which are stamped on the key itself....not sure about the barrell as your find most locksmith won't touch key reversal cutting.

some ignition barrels dont have a code (seen this on some zadi units)
means you have to remove the barrel/switch & take it to any decent locksmith.
most bike shops will arrange to do it, at a cost of around £40 Shocked ,so just cut out the middle man & take/send to locksmith yourself.
done it umpteen times with old bikes bought without keys.
