New to the forum but not new to bikes.

After messing around for a few years with jap cars (skylines and Evo's) i decided i wanted to get back into bikes.

my last bike was a 99 R1, then cars....

So i bought a really low mileage Ducati 999s, always loved Ducati's and like the 999, here's a couple of pics..

It gets delivered next week once it's had a full service and belts, and MOT.

Has Termi's on and includes the standards...

FIRST JOB IS TO REMOVE THE STICKERS, NOT MY THING..... CRUDE PHOTO EDIT BELOW.

Fantastic looking bikes. If I could swallow the servicing I would have one tomorrow!

Definitely get rid of the stickers, who in their right mind does that to a Ducati.

yeah servicing is expensive but i know that and am prepared for it.

I've never been a fan of stickers, on cars or bikes, i'm getting rid the day it gets delivered.

I had a good look at them on the day of the test ride and they are easy enough to remove.

It was delivered to me yesterday after having a complete service and belts, MOT and new battery.

It's MINT, i did spend a few hours last night though removing the naff stickers, i managed to get a ride on it today as the sun was out, it's amazing, although i was riding like a newbie as it's been 6 years since i've ridden a bike.

The Termi's sound fantastic and the pops and bangs on overrun which certainly turns heads...

Few of my mates don't like it, they are into jap bikes, the comments so far are :

Engine sounds like a bag of spanners...
Hope you're in the AA or RAC !!......
Tank is too small......you'll not go far on that tank...
Bike is too thin like a toy....

and a few others.....

I love it, i saw a few bikes today whilst out and NONE of them were Ducati's, all Jap, that's what i told them, i got this bike because i've always wanted a Ducati and they are soooo stylish no matter what they say....

Plans are :

open clutch cover, nice anodized parts..
power commander...
few more carbon bits...
anodized clutch / brake reservoir covers...

and whatever else take my fancy....Smile

Here it is after my little ride out today - still smiling :p

Looking forward to getting some more time on it and getting used to chucking them about again, take it steady for a little while though.

cheers

It's soooo clean it's unbelievable, just a bit of dust on the front forks near the yoke and a bit of dirt on the rear wheel from the chain, but i'll soon sort that out.... Wink

Very nice looking bike, and I guess it is good to be different.

However Jap bikes on the whole are mroe reliable, or can be abused a hell of a lot more. Performance wise too, they are pretty decent and if my memory serves me right, cheaper.

As for style, I do think a Duke looks good, but so do Japanese bikes, even if more common.

LOL true, but there are plenty of loud 1000 CC bikes with the right can. I believe the B1H is quiet for a 600 though, because my boss has a Hornet with the same can as mine and it is louder when starting up and in low revs!

However my can is quiet comapred to other guys on 600's, until I decide to have a bit of fun, I get quite a few bikers come up to me at lights and say it sounds awesome!

I am pretty sure it will LOL.

However my friend's busted Gixxer and another's 09 ZX 600 probably sounds better than yours :p

His can is importated from the US, and is pure illegal, but since it's 09, it's OK!

Want to go ride with us on Sunday?
