Do it.
I was planning to do a similar trip a couple of weekends ago, but lack of funds stopped me
All you need to make sure you have are:
(1) enough money for gas and snacks (or at least a working cashpoint card)
(2) a change of clothes
(3) breakdown cover
(4) a mobile phone
And bobs your uncle. Off you go! ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

Yep when you first get off your bike you'll be walking like you just came outta prison
As for if it can be done, yeh course it can! As other people have said just make sure you take a mobile with you and hope it don't rain! |

Best thing for it mate. If I lived at the Broch, I would try to get as far away as possible in the shortest possible time by any means necessary
It should be doable, Count on about five hours down to edinburgh (used to take me just over four from Huntly on my Jawa350). Although that bit of the A92 could take a bit of time (I usually go along the M90 but then I have a full licence).
Last time I did the next bit it took me about two hours but that was ton-up on my GPZ. It is quicker once you are south of Edinburgh though. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

You'll end up with what I call The John Wayne Walk
Are you going one way or are you planning on going home again on this trip? One way is do-able, i think round trip is a bit ambitious.
I will say, however, that I ammuch in favour of the long ride, rather than stints, for learners.
My first real journey was to a rideout with some of the BW lot. Berkshire to Kent, not that far, but did me wonders
My first real journey solo was a trip down to Dorset (120 miles approx) to visit a friend (RIP Cookie), and everything came together on that ride, and the 120ish home again the next day.
Good luck on the run, take a camera, take a phone, choose a job, choose life... sorry got carried away there.
Tip, if you have enough room under your seat, buy one of those wee ringbound map books and keep it there. (If you're the type, you can then mark on it where you have been).

I rode from Carlisle to Caernarfon (215 miles) on an eighteen year old CB125 twin a couple of years ago (fully laden with winter weather camping equipment), and that was in February. Took around five hours. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

I did 350 miles on a CG125 on 15 quids worth of fuel. It can be done (A good half of that was on the M1 as well) just make sure the weather is good. ____________________ Suzuki RF 600 - The two wheeled Testarossa (Deceased)

The only prize you'll win for such a feat is the "Longest amount of time spent sitting on a 125" award. |
