Did you sit it on their bike? Did an examiner accompany you?
If so, you got your money's worth.
If you sat it on your own 125, unaccompanied, then you paid for the convenience of the quick availability of the slots. Some test centres can be booked many weeks in advance.
But they also get a lot of cancellations, so if you can be available at short notice, you should be able to nab a slot by booking yourself.
If you think you paid too much, that's the price of not doing your homework. I don't think it's unreasonable, it's not like they forced you to go via them. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

At that price I'd expect to have been escorted by an instructor on the training school's bike, was that the case? If so, you definitely got your moneys worth.
They have to make a profit remember, as much as it may seem they are nice people at the end of the day they are a business and out to make a profit.
When I failed my Mod 2 that was taken with the instructor present, I rebooked that day for 11 days in the future, went on my own and passed.

Mmm, then you were mostly paying to use their slot. (Ooo-er, Matron).
Booking online is easier - you can just keep refreshing and try to snipe a cancellation. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

If you book the test yourself online or via telephone - 0300 200 11 22,
the cost is £75 - there shouldn't be a premium charge for the school booking it for you - certainly not that much - if you were having their bike and their instructor with you, then it would be appropriate.
If you book yourself - make sure you select the correct category of bike.
Cancellations are easy to pick up and can appear at any time - best time to check is early evening, when the schools have done their admin and thrown back the tests they are not going to be using |
