A 'Daft Punk Helmet' like this guy...
https://images.freshnessmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/daft-punk-helmet-1.jpg
In all seriousness though... One that fits the best.
I have a HJC ZF-10. It fits pretty well, BUT, I've just found out the other day, at anything over 50mph, it's noisy as hell. Like, I might as well have headphones on blasting white noise into my ears. It was horrible. Will be buying a better helmet as soon as funds allow tbh. ____________________ Bike: Currently Bikeless... Gahh |

Something that fits. Get down to your local dealer try everything on until you get one that fits perfect, that is the helmet for you.
If you are unsure about what a perfect fit will be, ask one of the assistants to give you a hand.
EDIT: tvchimp beat me too it. Also I need that daft punk helmet ____________________ Bikes Past: Yamaha Aerox (sold) Yamaha R125 (written off)

Couple of things...
I've got an Arai Viper GT, cost about £400. But it's WAY better than any cheap lid I've ever had (and I've had a LOT of 'em over 20 odd years!), better fit, more adjustable, more comfortable, far, far better airflow, pinlocks etc etc. There's plenty of reasons much beyond the name why people pay for Arai lids, imo.
But it is a bit noisy by some standards. Side pods, innit. Anything with covers over wear the visor clips to the lid is going to be noisier.
It's also a little large since I had my hair cut off. I'm looking at the X-Lite X802 at the moment, but I'll wager I wind up buying an RX-7GP.

I'm not doubting they've got more features, but in my view, I cant justify paying £400 for something which does the same job as something which costs £200, or cheaper, which the only difference is a few features.. It's mainly down to my budget too I guess... If I knew it was likely to have a significant improvement over another helmet at twice the cost, I'd pay the difference to know if I came off, I'd be better protected.. mehhh... ____________________ Bike: Currently Bikeless... Don't get me wrong, I spent years in the cheapest things I could find. Anything to shut my mother up. And I was into scrambling and trials, too, so my gear quite often got wrecked and pocket money in the 70s/80s didn't go far...
I'm not for a moment suggesting that everyone MUST buy expensive lids - I mean, for what Bape is suggesting, it'd be massive overkill.
But for me personally, I do a lot of riding and bike gear is where a lot of my money goes, for better or worse.
I'm trying not to spend £600 on a new lid, though... |

I'd recommend any type of Duchinni lid.
Most are all 4 Star SHARP rated and cost £50 or less.
Bought my D701 for £28. (4 star SHARP rated)
I'm even thinking about getting another one after mine's had it's day.
Cheap helmets aren't always the worst.
Ghostbikes on ebay is the place to go.
Btw, when are you finally getting your DNA on the road? |

Most helmets are fine for wind noise if they fit right & you wear ear plugs. Just cause Arai & Shoei cost the most does not mean they are the quietest.
My favourite helmet is an HJC carbon. My wifes is an HJC infinity, my daughters is a shoei and my best mate has a Shark. Point is people try different helmets and when they have found a brand/model they like they usually stick with it.
Except for BMW riders who buy BMW helmets and harley riders who buy piss pots ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

Urgh, he's on a 50cc, he's not going to spunk £400 on a race helmet.
Check out the SHARP ratings. They'll give you an objective standard for protection. "Yeah but no but yeah but Arai says..." is not objective.
Fit is more important though, and you have to try them out to find one that fits. Get down to your local bike shop, you can't check fit on eBay.
For noise, you can use earplugs or a wind skirt.
Remember that you don't see your helmet while its doing its job. Don't be a div and get a black Stealth Ranger one coz it iz well wikked innit. You're wearing it for protection, and that includes visibility. Nothing looks good embedded in the side of a transit. Consider one in white or bright silver, or even high-vis like the Nitro N250-VX in AW HELL YEAH YOU SAW ME orange. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Because smashing your head against a pavement at 20 mph on a 50 is different to smashing your head against a pavement at 20mph on a 1000cc fireblade how? .....
Why is someone's life less valuable because they ride a small cc bike?? The size of the bike has nothing to do with anything, its's all about the safety of the helmet! |

I've just bought a Shark, Cost me £99.99!
Fits snug, and looks the tits, the visor system is great, SO easy to get off.
Only bad thing is, when it squashes my cheeks in, i can have a sing along without biting my cheeks..
Nice and quiet at speeds aswell (not on my bike obviously!)
I'd just go for whatever fits you best and what you like. You are just paying for the brand in most cases ____________________ Sym Fiddle: SOLD
