I cleaned my carb on my Peugeot Speedfight 100 Prost, and put it all back together and now it just doesn't want to start. Could anyone please advise me on what I may have done wrong? Thanks. Below are some images I have taken.

Here is a photo of my carb:

I have no tried kicking it yet, as my kickstart doesn't crank around, I could try taking the transmission case off and manually crank it?

But yeah no matter how many times I use the electric start it just doesn't wanna start.

Just to let you know, once I tried covering my hand over where the air intake goes and it started up but at full revs.

Judging by the idle screw i'd say it'd only go in one way or be stuck wide open.

Just an update, I cannot kickstart my moped so i cannt get the fuel into the carb bowl, so what i have done is manually put in some fuel by pouring it into the bowl and then screwing it up. I cannot start it at the moment as my battery has no charge, so its charging at the moment.

I have to be honest, I have no idea how the throttle needle actually went in. The position I have it in at the moment seems right, as its the only position where the throttle grip twists normally, where as before it was just loose.

Can u please tell me why this happens... I covered up the air intake hole with my hand and the ped started up but at full revs, but if i place the air filter and air intake on the carb it doesnt start up at all.

Lean as fook, and covering the intake richened it up enough to run, so possibly an air leak somewhere.

Hmm your probably right.

Where should I check to see if there is an air leak? As I'm quite new to this sort of thing.

If I'm perfectly honest the vaccum tube that connects to the fuel tap seemed a bit loose, so maybe it could be that? But wouldn't I hear like a squeaky noise if it was that??

it won't neccesarily make a noise, and unless you've removed the carb rubber from the engine its unlikely to be that, so might be where the carb goes into the rubber also have you screwed the top down on the carb tight?

As far as I know I have secured everything tightly. I will double check tomorrow morning to see if everything is secured properly.

Tomorrow I'm getting a family friend to look at it who fixes motorbikes, I will see what he says about it.

OMG!!! YES!!! Smile I got it working finally and its running wayyy better than it originally did... as soon as i pull the throttle i get immediate acceleration! Smile A bit smokey on the pipe of the exhaust, and quite a lot of white smoke, but the guy that helped me fix it said thats expected. Just been on a run and the white smokes gone. WOOP Smile
