Hey all, anyone into lighting mods?

I've seen a few gsxr's on the net with those halo/angel eyes in the headlamps, but I don't really see the point, they cant be that much brighter than the sidelight so I presume they are just for tart factor. Also apparently you have to put the headlamp unit in the oven to melt the glue seal, so no thanks lol.

I know G has led strips on his bar muffs, which look like they add a lot of visibility, but it's hard to find places on a sportsbike to mount any kind of lights to have a beneficial effect.

So if you have any lighting mods, either lighting for driving, or lighting for your own visibility, post pics.

Here's what I have done, just a few leds but I think it really makes the bike a lot more noticeable. Two white leds in the corner of the air duct opening, wired into the sidelight circuit, and 4 red leds in the bottom of the numberplate wired into the rear running light.

Do you not have your air ducts installed then? And is/was your screen held on by duck tape?

I have a number of spare red 12v leds in my toolbox, and I'm very tempted to try this one... Thumbs Up Wink

I originally wanted to put some sort of red light under the undertray, but you wouldn't see it due to the number plate, and since there was no other place really, I stuck them there. They angle up slightly, it would be better if they were horizontal, but they seem to do the job rightly.

Back on track.

My mate has an SV650s, we put my lights on his bike, and now he uses them instead of the head lights since they are so bright.
And also put a red cold cathode tube, that is meant for a computer case.

I'll get some pictures when he come's round. It does look pretty good, since it is wired into the brake light so the whole rear end lights up, when slowing down.

Wouldn't even bother wasting my trime trawling through your half-wit posts finding conclusive evidence what a compulsive liar you are.

Redwing Bugger off, and jump off the band wagon.

I will want to wire in more lights on my bike whn its fixed ( Laughing )
How did you choose your lights just a bog standars hardware shop?

now id assume theres two relays for the lights one for running one for high beam?

how can you figure out the max "wattage" the relays can take?

What a fucking waste of battery and effort just to make your bike look like it's owned by some chav who has LED washer jets on his car. Is what i was going to say before seeing this:

Which actually looks alright and it no doubt useful for night riding and safer during the day. During the day car drivers see one headlight and assume it's miles away or a car parked up. Give them some width and structure to the lights and i think they will spot it and judge it's speed much better.
