Sunssssss out, again. Mega!!
Im gutted, I cannot ride one of my bikes yet, poxy tax ran out, only to find my MOT ran out the day before I went to renew the tax. Arse...

But the old mans picking her up saturday morning to do some rubber swapping for free for me, then I can MOT, then tax.
Otherwise, a service, a clutch adjustment, new chain and sprockets on the 23rd April, just in time for those nice 11 days off work (cheers Royally monachy dude/dudette). And cheers old man for the freebie work Cool

Other than that, I may see what the end of the year brings, buy a little more carbon for the Nelly.

As for the bandit, give her a good clean and polish and summer tidy up, carry on maintaining it, and then after 5 years, look at putting her up for sale mid summer, ready for that 4 wheel cage thing im about to re-embark back into (meh, I decided after 12 years commuting, its time for a little comfort and heaters in the winter).

No Europe road trips planned Sad But I blame that on an expensive wedding coming up. Got a small track session at Fest 1000 bikes, and hopefully another trackday before the end of the year, otherwise, not tooo much planned for 2011 Sad

Whats everyone elses bike plans for the summer? Any bike mods, any road trips?

Ah crap you just reminded me I need to get it taxed!

I've just sent a pair of Marchasini wheels off for a refurb, and also waiting for a pair of race kit cams to arrive. Think they will be the only mods this year as I'm running out of things to do to it! Laughing

Thumbs Up

More work, likely a euro holiday trip or two and then if bike sees the end of summer i'll break it for parts and buy another one to use.

After almost 63000 miles the Bandit's suspension is thoroughly shagged so this year will most likely consist of suspension refurbishment.

busa is going next week and a pretty little Street triple R coming in its place so I'll have to see how I get on with that before making any touring plans.

Buell:

Well, no mods or anything planned on it, except to install my 5v mini USB connector so I can use the Sat Nav on it.

FZR:

Just trying to sort out the minor running issues with it, I think the air screws need to be reset in the carbs. It needs a new chain, maybe new sprockets and I need to replace the rubber brake hoses with braided ones. After that, hopefully many many trackdays.

RD350:

I need to finish fitting the fork cartridge emulators and put the forks back on. Hoping to finish this before easter.

MZ: Needs an MOT and Tax. May buy a tarty Mikuni carb for it. Now petrol is increasing to ridiculous levels, having a winter hack makes more and more sense.

GSXR750 K1 rear shock, and forks.
It's a piece of P*ss conversion, and the bike will handle the bollocks when you do it. So do it!!! Wink

As for plans on my bikes.
The YZF450, will just be ridden as usual. I would like to do some supermoto track days on it, and maybe get it to a few MX tracks too.
It's all pretty much serviced and ready to go. New sprockets, chain, tyres, brake pads, air filter, oil etc. So just ride as normal I suppose.
Part of me is looking forward to the snow in the winter again! The YZF was sikk throughout that period. Didn't get caught out anywhere. Smile

Got my 160 pit bike, which is getting raced next weekend, and hopefully raced on a fortnightly basis thereafter.
Still gotta get the graphics for it, they are currently on their way from America.
Waiting on a replacement cylinder head with the correct exhaust port.
Future plan is to get it re-bored to 172cc, Fit a 4-valve head, and a Mikuni VM28 carb. Should see up to 24bhp out of it.

And then the Demon X - Will be purely for pit bike tracks, and maybe a spot of green-laning if I can road register it.

Fix my radiator, pick up a cheap K+N and power commander, check valve clearances, repair crash damage, ride it.

New chain and sprockets, replacing all wheel bearings and a front brake caliper service with new seals, piston and pads are on the cards. Also gonna fix an annoying buzz caused by my screen fouling the clocks. 40'000 mile service with new plug and air filter due in a month or so too, much to the wife's jealousy! Might change the fork oil if I can be bothered. All whilst doing 300 miles a week commuting. Thumbs Up

I might wash it before next winter if it behaves itself.

Other than that, only maintenance and consumables, its certainly not going to get any luxuries!

edit: I lied, remembered I bought a zx12r shock to go on the 7r, need to drill the mounting holes out to 12mm first though. but this is still technically maintenance as the stock one is shagged

Rear shocks and tyres, so far. The best thing I ever did! Cool

R&G crash bungs and replace the rusty bits with shiny bits are the next steps. Thumbs Up

^^ wot bacon said ^^

Might wash it.
Might wipe it with an oily rag.

Pretty sure it needs a new chain and sprocket.

If I found a left indicator and mirror that didn't need gaffer tape to hold them on, I'd prolly get them replaced. But seeing as how half the fairing is missing on that side, not really too bothered.

Other than that, I plan to just ride it.

First of all it needs a good clean. The winter has dirtied it up somewhat.

After that it's new double bubble screen, nice stubby carbon fibre exhaust and a suspension setup at racing lines in Derby. Already got the new tyres on so should be sorted after that for the summer!

This years bike related plans (with not too much thought) are probably:

1 - 19th April, pass Mod 2 (fingers crossed)
2 - Ride the CG afterwards for two months or so, spending nothing, or as little as possible, on its upkeep with the exception of oil and petrol.
3 - Buy an ER5 or a Hornet or something, get some 33bhp goodness.
4 - ????
5 - Profit.

My plan is simple:

Get my Mod 1 and 2 passed Middle Finger
Sell my car Sad
And cruise every weekend back and forth for Stevenston to Edinburgh in the sunshine. Very Happy

Even with a full restricted license still going to stick to the A roads. Wink

Done everything, new chain and sprockets, new clutch, new custom made silencers, new tyres, new front wheel bearings, new front and rear pads, new brake and clutch fluid, oil and filter, repaired the dodgy radiator, new battery and done the annual coolant change. All in all a good winters work.

All thats left to do is scrub in the tgyres and ride the arse off it till the end of the year when its due for valve check and clearance and brake and clutch lines and possible cam chain tensioner if i can be arsed.

No Mods planned at all.

I've got a 2 day track day to attend to in Le Mans for May 3rd on the R1, then I'm selling it to have an SP2.

The Hornet I am tracking round Donnington in 2 weeks with Dom off here. Then keep commuting on it. Then off to tour Europe on it for the Czech Moto GP in August, on route hitting the Nurburgring and loads of sights.

Other than that nothing special really!

Thumbs Up
