Sorry to bring the dull subject of insurance up, but does anyone know how/where/if i can get short-term insurance for my bike? ...at an affordable price?
basic 3rd party f and t., 01, 600 hornet, no past claims

I'm currenty with NIG, through devvit, which just expired. they say i can pay for the annual policy as per norm and then cancel it down the line, getting a refund, thus only getting charged for the time used, plus a £40 cancellation fee.
for example, £300 policy for the year divided by 365days, minus the 2 months i will likely use works out at £20-30/mth, thus £60+ the cancellation fee of £40 = £100 .... £100 for 2mth cover .......so, it doesnt sound tooo bad, but i'd rather get a purpose built kind of insurance really.

Your thoughts?

hope that makes sense.

cheers for the advice Thumbs Up

I considered PAYG insurance at £46pm.

Until I got a far better quote for the full year - £82 TPO

run a quote through Ebikes 'pay as you go' monthly. see how that works out. It WILL cost more over the course of a full year.. but if the monthly payment is affordable.. then that may suit you. easy enough to cancel at any time. one plus.. they apply a years NCB every 8 months.

Sooner or later opinions fade and the name on the tank matters not. I think that happens somewhere between 3rd and 4th gear. Enjoy the ride... everything else takes care of itself.

My thoughts.....

READ THE T/C

As your bike ins is not caculated on a daily basis.....

I think you will find after 2 months you may be entitled to around 50 to 75%% less the admin fee.....

I had a quick look at PAYG insurance on the superdreams.
Annual policy on one for me or Snowie ia around £100 a year, so £26 a time 'Admnin' fee to swap one over when I complete a project, JUST to change the registration number on it, is a bit of a kicker.
PAYG quotes though, were in the region of £20 a month; Ie nearly two and a half times an annual premium.....
But only really wanting a month or two's cover on a bike, while I finish build and sell on, its cheaper than the 'admin' fees!

ebike want 40quid for the month, and thats only 3rd party f and t!

surprised they dont ask for estimated mileage, as surely that would be a big factor.
