whole bike, shouldn't really need to be 'rebuilt' unless you crash it, or take it apart!
Engine may benefit from a rebuild from time to time, but on a DT, interval depends more on how sorely its been thrashed, user numptyness forgetting to put two stroke oil in it or something, or clean out the radiator after getting it full of mud.... misguided attempts at de-restriction, or tuning, rather than any strict mileage.

12k miles could probably do with a set of piston rings and little end bearing, you don't even need to disturb the head gasket on the dt assuming clearance on the newer frames is good you just undo the base nuts and take the top end off complete.

aprilia rs 125 recommend rings at 5000 mile intervals and most motocross say ring every 50hrs if you average 50mph that would be 2500 miles mx bikes mostly use single ringed pistons.

So 12k miles on one set is good going.
