Hi,
Basically my brothers laptop shut off by itself. When we tried to start it back up the screen goes black and nothing happens. When i try to put it in "safe mode" i get the following:-
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\system32\hal.dll
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\system32\KDCOM.DLL
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\system32BOOTVID.dll
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\system32\config\system
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\system32\system.log
And it just stays on this screen
If any solutions lead to me being able to use his laptop again like before i will send £10 via paypal , to the solution that works
Thanks
All help WOULD be greatfully recieved. ____________________ Piaggo liberty 125 SOLD - CBR 125 - SOLD Aprilia RS 125 - SOLD CBR 400 NC29 - SOLD ZX6R currently own https://bikepics.com/members/Graprilia/ |

did he fall for one of those delete system32 things?
looks like windows files are corrupted or missing. you need a windows disk to reinstall the files.
put the disk in, boot from it, then repair.
shove your tenner though. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. In summery, mattsprattuk is a gobby little sh1tebag, dopehead tw4t, but sadly for all of us, he probably isn't THAT full of sh1te!!

it normally says ''press any key to boot from disk...'' at some point.
if not, try making a boot disk floppy (if it has a floppy drive), then typing D:/setup.exe
if not, there'll be an option somewhere. try hammering F8 or F9 (i forget which) during boot up to get some more options. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. Might be a corrupt driver. Installed or updated anything recently? |

www.ubuntu.com
Download that, burn it to a CD, that'll get you a running OS on a CD and will let you attempt to copy files off your internal HDD to a usb drive, run it for a few days from the liveCD and see how it goes. If you want to do a proper test on the HDD, something like active boot disk is a good start, ubuntu probably has something on there too. Just make sure you don't accidentally install it as you'll potentially cause more damage to the OS and files on there.
Hope that helps ____________________ 2010 Triumph 1050 Sprint ST |
