Following on from Born2bVile's thread about a first aid course for people who are first on the scene of a motorcycle accident:

https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=30821

I spoke to the St Johns London branch (020 7258 3456) on Monday. At the moment it's a new course that they are only piloting in certain parts of the country.

They currently have two dates planned for London, on the Saturdays 11th and 18th September. As they are still piloting the course the cost is only 20quid plus VAT (but no group discount at that price!). There is space on the course for a maximum of 14 people each day, plenty of availability at present.

It's an all day (10am-3pm) thing and will be held at their Islington branch in Friend St.

I did post this on the end of the original thread, but nobody replied. Does that mean that nobody else is available/interested for either of these dates?

It's worth pointing out that the 20 quid price is a special offer as the course is still in the pilot stage. The person I spoke to reckoned the full price was likely to be around 50 quid.

I'm up for the course. Either days fine, but I'd prefer the 18th as I'd like to attend the Spills kills rally from the Ace. They haven't picked the best of dates there, have they. I'm definitely up for it though! Thumbs Up

Stick it in Outings and Excursions if you really want to organise people to come - people will realise it's a 'thing' and not just a post. Thumbs Up

Both rather unfortunate dates, as the KillSpills run sounds like fun and then I'm hopefully on a trackday on the 18th. Confused

Could it be worth trying to get them to do another day further down the line, if we knew we could muster 14 people then it's basically sold it out for them?

I'd forgotten about the Kill Spills thingy. That makes my preference the 18th as well.

I haven't booked myself yet, but from the initial conversation I had with them I believe you just ring up 020 7258 3456, ask for the training dept and give your details and a card number.

Hello

I did it yesterday and will be doing the course on the 18th as the 11th I will be on the diesel spills ride out.

So see you guys there

PS You get a basic first aid certificate which usually cost £50 + VAT so at £20 +VAT it is a bargain
