Strangely enough, I've just bought 5M (£2.50) of air tubing to do just this at the weekend. Using ATF is easier to read as it's red  ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.

Did you find you had to pinch the tube at all to stop fluctuations, or was it fairly smooth to read untouched? ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.

I found that carb #2 on a CB500 requires a spigot adaptor to put the tube on. Which I don't have

For next time :-
1. Use a longer bit of wood.
2. Or less fluid.
3. Put it on the floor, not on the bike. Otherwise when you overadjust, the fluid goes over the top bend and heads to your carb. Meaning you kill the engine, and have to wait to get the fluid back in the loop again. Meaning the carbs will run out of fuel restarting it. Again. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.
