I've had it in my head to buy a cheap traillie to fiddle with in the winter (attempt to learn some mechanicking) and, well, just cos I want one okay!
Problem is, I'm 5 foot 6 so I need one that's not too massive - I had a go on G's DR and I needed a kerb to get on and off. Not that I could kickstart it anyway.
I'm not really fussed about engine size, a 125 would be fine, so what I need from you lovely people is some suggestions of models to look for on ebay, adtrader and so on over the next few months. If it's simple and short, I'll consider it.
Gracias. |

Yamaha 225 Serow, i believe, from when ive seen them and read about them, they are said to be very low
supposed to be pretty good cop also, and they cost nothing these days
good site all about trail bikes https://website.lineone.net/~dualsport.uk/greybikeguide.htm
and they say
"The XT225 SEROW (4S, AC)
Probably my idea of the archetypal trailbike. Simple, straightforward chassis and engine that's meagre on petrol; light and nimble with low, comfortable seat height - perfect if you're put off trail bikes by their height; gutsy enough to tackle the most horrendous of green lanes yet is comfortable as a town bike and can cruise at 70mph. Convenient rack with grab rails should you get stuck and most models now with electric start. No wonder they're so popular.
"
hope this helps ____________________ So in other words, he stopped you for being flagrantly in posession of a motorcycle in direct contravention of the Hippies, Darkies and People Whose Face I Don't Like The Look of (Police Powers) Act. 1976 |

That price is about right to be honest, considering they are Morad rims (nowhere near as good as Excel) and it doesn't have discs either.. so all in all that price is about right I think..
You'll probably pick up some talon/excels later for a decent price, theres a few bargains knocking about.. I missed this set last week for about £500 I think he sold them for, he must have been fkn mad!
Shame tho, they are v nice.. ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

Yamaha Tw125s are one of the lowest to the ground legal road trailies around. The quite a bit of fun too, and being that they are basically a CG125 4 stroke engine slammed into a funky frame with a massive back tyre, they're a breeze to tinker with. I've got a silver 2001 model. I'd recommend getting one before the 2002 model. The others just look a bit pants - and they have lame semi tyres, rather than giant knobblies
here's mine:
