Hi,

First off, is this dent fillable?

https://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff501/harrybarfield/photo-7.jpg

or would i need to pop it out some how? how would i do this?

also the dust overs on the forks are shot. The seals dont leak at all so im not going top mess with them. am i right in thinking i just need to prop the bike up (el250) and undo the bolts holding the stanchions on and slide them down in order to remove the old covers and just pop in the new ones?

Thanks in advance!

H

Nah, you can pop that out.

Leave a little fuel in the bottom, chuck a lit match in, and jam your hand over the filler. During the resulting explosion if your tank isn't blown into several pieces the expansion of the gas inside will force the dent out.

(Just fill it, or pull it out.)

Best way would be to push it out of course.

Kind of tricky on a tank since you can't get to the inside of it that well. You could try and pull it out, but that's more of a pros only kind of thing.

Google is your friend if you fancy giving it a whirl.

It looks like it has a crease in the middle of the dent, or is that just the light deceiving me?

If it's creased it's going to need filling to finish it anyway so you might as well stick a long bar in through the filler and bash it against the inside of the dent and finish it with filler.

If it's not creased, pressurising the tank 'might' blow it out but you'll get better results emptying and clearing the tank of fuel vapours, welding a stick to the middle of the dent on the outside, pulling out the dent and then grinding off the weld and finishing the metal back to smooth before repainting.
