 |
|
Bit of a tricky question... (don't ask why I'm looking, it's a very long story)
I'm looking for a petrol tank that will fit inside my Piaggio NRG MC3 moped seat, needs to be no smaller than 5 litres (and preferably not too much bigger either, I'm premixing at 33:1 so it's just easier to stick at 5L).
I will post dimensions later, but it also needs to have some kind of pre-drilled holes/ way of fastening securely to the inside of the seat.
It will be replacing my main petrol tank so will also need a vacuum tap or I could just use the one from the old tank.
Thanks to anyone who has any ideas. ____________________ Sold: NRG 50cc, SR125cc, CBR125cc, Mito MK 1 125cc, Speedfight 50cc, Stomp 125cc, cbr125cc, NRG 172cc, CBF 125cc, Zip 70cc, stomp 140cc
Current: CB500 (waiting on DAS)

I was thinking that... but I need one that will sit properly in the seat and one that I can securely mount to the frame... ____________________ Sold: NRG 50cc, SR125cc, CBR125cc, Mito MK 1 125cc, Speedfight 50cc, Stomp 125cc, cbr125cc, NRG 172cc, CBF 125cc, Zip 70cc, stomp 140cc

I did say it's a piaggio NRG MC3 Moped. and there is no problem, I just really f****ng hate the size of the current petrol tank, it's massive...
And yes I have heard of the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", but I want to change it. ____________________ Sold: NRG 50cc, SR125cc, CBR125cc, Mito MK 1 125cc, Speedfight 50cc, Stomp 125cc, cbr125cc, NRG 172cc, CBF 125cc, Zip 70cc, stomp 140cc

Bigger is better
Nobody wants a small one.
Well, except you. |
It only holds 6.5 litres at the moment anyway, it's just a really stupid shape! ____________________ Sold: NRG 50cc, SR125cc, CBR125cc, Mito MK 1 125cc, Speedfight 50cc, Stomp 125cc, cbr125cc, NRG 172cc, CBF 125cc, Zip 70cc, stomp 140cc

| cb1rocket wrote: | so you want to fit something 1.5 litres less.......why? please say why.......i'm curious | well, as I said in my first sentence, I'm premixing at 33:1 5 litres of petrol to 150ml oil. would make maths easier to have a 5 litre tank, but more is preferred.

Just redo the maths its not hard! Its a very odd you just want to change the tank to mix in a 33:1 ratio. Why not just do that in a normal size petrol can and then pour the lot in?
The math is simple! here
1000ml (1L) divide by 33 gives you 30.3ml of oil to use per litre.
So 30.3 x 6.5 litres = 197ml so just round that up to 200ml and your sorted.
simples! |

and just to cover my backside 30.3ml x 5 litres is 151.5ml so i ain't far off your 150ml amount you use now!

could you not just put 5 litres in the 6.5 litre tank, the pump tells you the ammount you have put in, so just stop at 5 and add the oil ____________________ 04 NSR 125(sold) ---- 03 CBR 600rr(sold) ----90 pan euro ST1100 ' ' ----02 CG 125

Unless you run it empty every time (or actually empty it, as I used to do for circuit racing), it's a bit irrelevant surely?
If you've got a calculator on your mobile (the s25 I had around 2000 had one, so I'm sure yours does ) then it's not exactly hard to work out. |

I already do fill up at home, and I know what it is to fill up and/or mix.
My question was, if anyone knew of a small tank that would fit underneath a moped seat? ____________________ Sold: NRG 50cc, SR125cc, CBR125cc, Mito MK 1 125cc, Speedfight 50cc, Stomp 125cc, cbr125cc, NRG 172cc, CBF 125cc, Zip 70cc, stomp 140cc
