Hi

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-13764898

At least it went on flying through its life.

All the best

Keith

Sad end to a great plane Sad

Saying that give it 10 or so years and those yanks may restore it back to flying glory

Hi

Did think that as well after I posted. Given some of the remains that seem to have been 'rebuilt' to flying condition.

All the best

Keith

Seen it done before on a program on discovery, where they chop up old planes and use certain sections which are compatible with other models...
Looks like they can get away with replacing the main section of the fuselage.

ZRX61 will be along shortly to tell us it's his next project.

Sad news though. One of the highlights of my weekend just gone at Download wasn't actually the music, it was seeing the AVRO Lancaster fly over on a landing approach for East Midlands airport. Low, slow, awesome.

Interesting 'virtual tour' aboard the Liberty Belle:

Bit slow at the mo, i guess it's getting plenty of visits.

Unfortunate, at least it wasn't a Spitfire, a Lancaster or the one remaining Avro though.

Saturday, mid afternoonish. Standing at the back of the arena between main and second chatting to some mates and it appeared at not much more than tree height and cut across the back of the arena heading for the strip. I'm guessing it was a stop off on the way back from a flyover at Trooping the Colour. Fucking awesome Mr. Green
